Hey I'm Anne but my friends & fam also call me Anneymoney.

A nickname I think my dad gave me when I was a child and quite 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆-𝗴𝗿𝘂𝗯𝗯𝗲𝗿.

I was always preoccupied with 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆. Selling my old stuff on the street, or performing cartwheels for a dime. I even started a dog walking business and did random little chores for my neighbors.

I think at one point I even rebagged all my mum's herbs and spices and sold those on the streets (sorry mom 😬).

I mean I knew that what I was 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝘆 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗼𝗹' 𝘀𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲 (I might have been 8 but I wasn't stupid 😏).

𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 is not easy but definitely really important to learn. Often times “selling” comes with negative connotations, but all it really means is 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴. So “selling yourself” means communicating your value – and that’s an ability we can all benefit from, especially when starting your own business. Because the truth is it doesn’t matter how skillful or talented you are at something if you don’t know how to sell yourself to others...

I might not be much of a money-grubber anymore but I definitely kept my persuasiveness & big smile when trying to convince someone of something. Still, on some days I wish I had a little bit more of that 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 in me! Anyone can relate? 😅 How do you feel about "selling yourself"?

I'm a big fan of creating your own content ✔️ over using stock photos ✖️ in your socials.

It's much more beneficial because you'll be able to create images that are completely 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱, and are 𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 '𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹' (similar colors, branding, and style) which is much harder to achieve with stock images. Who's with me? 🙋🏻

Let's talk about 𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘀.

Followers and likes are the most common examples of vanity metrics in the context of social media. Anything that makes you look like you're 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲, but doesn't necessarily have a real impact on your bottom line is a vanity metric.

Vanity metrics are - in my opinion - definitely not all bad for business accounts. The 𝗽𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳 can make vanity metrics work in an exponential way. Meaning the more people who follow and like your content, the more additional people are likely to do the same.

We are all subconsciously programmed to 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. When we see a lineup, we wonder what it’s for; when we see a crowd, we are likely to join in to find out what everyone else thinks is so special. Right?

But don't make the mistake of focusing too much on vanity metrics. Gaining more followers and therefore more visibility is great, but it isn't necessarily indicative of a business meeting their 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀; like engagement, new subscribers, or sales.

"I want to feel free without having to leave the country".

I wrote this in a letter to my future self 8 years ago and well, 𝗜 𝗙𝗔𝗜𝗟𝗘𝗗. But I'm so glad I did.

Because back in the day I thought that my desire to travel the world and wanting to be anywhere but home meant I was 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴. But now I know, I was actually running towards the 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘆𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳.

My yearning for greater autonomy and more time for exploring, relaxation, and free play was often put away as a 'fantasy'. I can now see that I just had to ignore the voice of society telling me to 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵: go to school, study hard, find a good job and bloom where you are planted.

I don't think we live this certain way because it’s the perfect way. But because it's purely what we’re used to. But living an unconventional life and still make a good living is 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲.

I was 19 when I did my first long solo backpacking trip and my outlook on life and 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱. I never felt completely at ease anymore at home after that experience. But I had a hard time expressing it as a teenager and an early twenty-something without it sounding like I just wanted to rebel.

But I always knew that what I was envisioning for myself wasn't a fantasy. It had to be possible. It just had to. So after my graduation I actively started looking for digital nomad jobs and landed a job that was going to be 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲. Free, exciting, full of adventures.

Now almost 2 years later I live in Guatemala where I can see a volcano erupt every ten minutes from my rooftop. I now started my own freelance business in order to continue to give myself the freedom & space to do the things 𝗜 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴!

And even though it sounds annoyingly simple: you really are always one decision away from a totally different life.

It is no secret that when it comes to social media, emotion rules the day.
Brand stories help develop trust and create connections with customers, they have also become an excellent way to tap into the customers’ emotions. And people ultimately make buying decisions based on those very emotions.

When you’ve got content showcasing expertise, it shows potential clients and customers that you know your stuff. 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 is fast becoming one of the most important elements of any social media platform. And it's without a doubt the 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘆 𝗷𝗼𝗯.

~ 𝙎𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 ~

Let me tell you a little bit about 𝗺𝘆 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝘆.

Well, you could say it all started when I was about 𝟭𝟰 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗹𝗱 and borrowed my dad's point-and-shoot camera on vacation. I took a photo of a seagull(!) and with this picture, I 𝘄𝗼𝗻 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (no joke).

I bought my first camera with the prize money and that's what opened my world to photography. I took photos of flowers, my hamster, the sky, sunlight, dogs, people (and I'm pretty sure I invented the selfie in 2005 💅🏼).

Fast forward to graduating high school! I never really knew what I wanted to 'become'. But there were two things I knew I loved: 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝘆. So I did a pre-year at the 𝗥𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗿𝘁, and eventually got accepted for the Bachelor Photography. I made Documentary Photography my specialization and learned a lot about 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 and 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆-𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴.

I loved being able to use my camera as an 'excuse' to come into people's interesting lives and document their stories. But after two years I realized that the art academy environment wasn't really for me so 𝗜 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁, grabbed my backpack and traveled around Central-America. The pressure was off and I 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗲.

Today I couldn't be happier that creating visual content still became a 𝗵𝘂𝗴𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲. I now use my creative eye to create engaging and aesthetic photos, videos, and graphics to catch my clients' potential customer's attention.

Due to my background in 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝘆 & 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, I have always been very passionate about connecting people and creating aesthetic content that speaks to people. I completely dove into 𝙎𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙈𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙖 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 the moment I realized that this is what brought these two passions together for me. This is what made me feel 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗸𝗶𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲.
