Happy Lunar New Year from the Lins ❣️🐉✨ We celebrated Mr. Food Lingo’s birthday along with lunar new year this year.

We made dumplings as they symbolize wealth for the new year & Tantanmen since noodles are eaten during birthdays to symbolize long life.

✨When I first started cooking, I was in for a surprise: cinnamon isn’t one-size-fits-all! 😲I had no idea about the different types and was floored when I realized they’re not all the same. And yes, I now have all types in my pantry 🤭. I may be biased, but Mexican cinnamon steals the show for me. 🇲🇽 Its warm, spicy, vanilla-like aroma adds an irresistible touch to my dishes.✨ Which type steals your taste buds? Exercise? I thought you said extra rice.

✨🇹🇼 We’re currently traveling through Taiwan and made it to Chishang, a small town in the Taitung district. The rice from this region tastes like no other 🤤. As soon as I had it at a local restaurant, I was on a mission to buy rice to take back home with me 🧳.

We stopped at a small bike shop to rent bikes 🚴‍♀️ and to our surprise they were selling rice! 🍚 Not only that but it just so happened that their crop had just won 1st place 🥇 in the district and they’ve been the running champs for the past 3 years 😍!

Let’s just say, this was my sign to buy rice 💸🤭 & for some reason, the owner decided to gift me a 2nd bag of rice 🙏😭.

🌾 Seeing how rice is grown and the amount of work that goes into it made me realize how precious each grain of rice is.

✈️👩‍🍳Can’t wait to get back home & cook with it. What should my first dish be? 🤔💭

👋✨Hola, soy Daniela, the girl behind Food Lingo! 💗 Finally taking a moment to properly introduce myself to this amazing community of over 40K strong 🥹!

📍I was born in Cd. Obregon, Sonora, Mexico, and raised in AZ 🌵. As a first-generation immigrant, I once grappled with the "Ni de aqui, ni de allá" mindset. However, my journey into Mexican Gastronomy through cooking and exploration changed my perspective. Now, I'm on a mission to inspire others like me to embrace their roots through food and proudly embody "De aqui Y de allá" 🇲🇽🇺🇸.

👩‍🍳 As a self taught home cook, being in the kitchen, experimenting, and sharing my food adventures with you all fills me with joy. Food is my absolute passion, and I'm fascinated by the stories, history, and diversity of different cuisines.

🇹🇼 My better half is Taiwanese (hence the last name 😉), so get ready for some amazing Asian recipes in the future. But don't be surprised to find a mix of Indian, Middle Eastern, and other cuisines too. We absolutely LOVE food and adore exploring diverse flavors.
