Are you guilty of using this 'strategy'?🤭
You're not alone! Most podcast advice says 'promote the podcast and the listeners will come', but the truth isn't quite like that.
This type of post is only a nudge, and it doesn't explain what's in it for the listener, or why they can't miss it.
Lazy marketing yields lazy results. 🤓

Speaking with Lloyd George about the journey of content creation, diversity and inclusion was such a treat.
His approach to content creation makes the process attainable for podcast beginners, and we truly enjoyed the conversation about the importance for business owners to ensure that their audience feels represented in the content.
This episode is a must-listen, and if you feel compelled to learn more about podcasting, we highly recommend Lloyd's recently released LinkedIn Learning course about podcasting.

It's time to reintroduce myself...
I'm Ana, Podcast Content Strategist, Founder, and Goof In Chief of The Podcast Space.
From 'broadcasting the news' in primary school in my small hometown in Portugal (a city dating from the Roman Times, called Chaves), to preparing 'family shows' as a child, I was always the chatty one.
I always had a passion for communication, helping others, and building authentic relationships. And at 18, I moved to College in Porto, to study Communications and Journalism, where I learned about my first love: radio.
During my first internship in one of Portugal's main radio stations, my brilliant mentor shared with me that my talents would be better suited as a radio host / DJ because I have 'too much personality' to be a journalist.
To this day, I'm so thankful for him - his wise words and support, guided me to where I am today.
After a short experience as a radio host and journalist, I move to London, UK to learn about Radio and Broadcasting in the country that set the world standard (through the BBC).
In London, I was able to produce and co-host so many incredible online radio shows and podcasts, while working other jobs, including one as a Digital Marketeer in a nonprofit. There, I mastered my communications skills on a limited budget - a reality that I've learned is true for most small business owners!
The move to Dallas, TX came in 2016 after meeting my husband, who was moving to the US due to work.
So I restarted my network from scratch: not knowing anyone else more than my husband and a couple of his friends, I was connected with someone who was expanding their podcast department and needed help.
For two years I've learned all about livestreaming podcasts, running shows with regular people (not media trained), and I really fell in love with educating hosts on content strategy and ways to become a better host.
January 2020 was the leap for me to start The Podcast Space: a family member passed away and I realized I wanted the freed
Nothing beats the feeling of receiving your first email, private message, or tag on social media from a podcast fan!
Here's how you can create podcast episodes that transform passive listeners into raving podcast fans:

As a former broadcast journalist and radio host, I can promise you that having media training to host a podcast isn’t that big of a deal.
In my career I have worked with 40+ entrepreneurs and business owners and having previous training didn’t make a world of difference in the success of their show.
About 5-7 years ago, people wanted hosts who looked like pros - today people want to hear podcasts from ‘real and authentic humans’ who they can easily connect with.
So - are you human? Can you research a topic or have a conversation about it? Then go ahead and start that podcast - or take on the next level challenge!
