It's been a while!
I'm not normally one to post 'Phone recordings', but this one was a little special and to be honest, it's not bad for what it is.

In August 2017, the lads from Chevy Metal got together at the very small and intimate OXFORD ART FACTORY to play a collection of covers. Dave Grohl was also kind enough to play with the band for the entire set lubricated with one (or many) beers (including one supplied by yours truly). Such a great night!
Rest in Peace Taylor Hawkins. You certainly will be missed.

It's been far too long in-between posts. I hope everyone is staying safe.

Here's a trip down memory lane from Easter Friday in 2003. Sydney's mighty Twin City Faction!

This was shot somewhere in North Head Manly in Sydney's Northern Beaches. It was a (private?) party and was shot in almost pitch-black darkness, thus the night-vision 'look'

I think it was released as a limited DVD at some point...but I can't be sure as I didn't have anything to do with that.

Trying to get back into the swing of things again...

Here is one of the first shows I ever filmed, Metallica, live in Sydney on their 1st of a 3-night stint back in 93. This show is a significant one for me as I met a lot of my life long friends at this gig (or in the lines that we were in camping out for 'tapers section' tickets). It also started a long term relationship with Records as they used to play the gig on their TV screens in the month's post this tour. I met some amazing people through that and was lucky enough to meet the band (thanks to a Phonogram records rep, Robyn W, via Utopias' amazing Simon T in a true backstage sense as well as get tickets for the snakepit on the second show.

As a 16 year old it was honestly a dream come true and something I NEVER would have expected. Huge props to Simon and Robyn, you know who you are!

In the meantime, if you like old music stuff that was once aired on TV 20+ years ago or was only released on VHS, follow my new channel. Ill be posted everything there that wasn't shot by me, and hopefully most of it has never reached the internets as of yet. I have 1000 tapes to get thru so this project is gonna be a work in progress. Stay safe everyone

Yesterday would have been Billy's 50th...
This show has been posted before, but this is an updated version with better vision.
It reminds me so much of what Downtime were in the mid-'90s: a 3 piece powerhouse. I remember this show like it was yesterday.

Another step back in time back to this very day 26 years ago to the dark and poster littered walls of Utopia Records in Clarence Street Sydney. The Poor performing some tracks from their new record (at the time) Who Cares + the soundcheck and post performance signing session. Unfortunately the audio is quite distorted as we didn't really have access to consumer grade mics for cameras back in the day. Hope you enjoy anyway!

The Poor - Who Cares LP launch
This was one of the first shows I ever filmed. Again, unfortunately the cameras didn't have great microphones, so its pretty distorted. I'm not sure why I was only able to grab 20 mins of the show, more than likely I forgot to bring extra batteries. This is all that I captured of the night. I have no idea how I got tickets for this as it was invite only and a private launch. I can only speculate it was due to my lovely friend at Utopia Records at the time, Simon Thomson. Thnx Simon! I must have been one of the youngest people in the room that night.

Check out this never before seen show of Melbourne's Bodyjar. taken back in December of 1996, it features a daytime performance to an unusually small crowd at Mona Vale's Community hall in Sydney. The double kicker is the EXTREMELY rare performance of one of their b-sides, Clout as well as a show opener that didn't often stay at the top of the set-list. I hope you dig it and enjoy the memories from almost 24 years ago. This was another Patreon voted upload! Thanks for getting me to revisit this gem :)
