Currently, teen pregnancy rates in the Philippines are pretty high at 47 adolescent births per 1000 births. This is very alarming, considering the world average stands at 44 per 1000. Despite the high birth rate among adolescents, our educational system still does not include a comprehensive s*xual education system in the curriculum. Have Protection Before You Show Affection is an advocacy that works towards disseminating useful information about safe s*x practices and the dangers of unprotected s*x to youth members of the community. We believe that all youth have the right to a comprehensive s*xual education as well as proper healthcare for these factors heavily influence decision making processes that may impact their lives and futures. Ultimately, our goal is for information to be spread among all the youth and to raise a consensus about the importance of a comprehensive s*xual education here in the Philippines.
