In honor of 2023 being recognized as #50YearsofHipHop Austin Texas Central Public Library held an honors award ceremony for the local Hip Hop legends that served as the catalyst in their community. MC Artists such as Bavu, the girl group known as Cooly Girls, and even DJs like DJ Cassanova were among the few Austin Hip Hop giants that were honored this past Sunday.
Austin’s Central Library partnered with their archival program in order to help preserve their contributions as well as create space for future artists to do the same. /Video footage by AK Jones @akxjones for Charakter.
