Just a few photos of the snow that fell earlier this morning before sunrise. We picked up a very quick 1-2 inches out of a very heavy snow band that developed and moved through the entire area. Other than a few flurries from time to time, the precipitation is done and has moved well east of the region. Our attention turns to another major winter storm for Tuesday night and Wednesday that will bring another snow chance and possibly some significant accumulations with it. Details on that are forthcoming. -David F.

So, in one day, we went from a chilly rain to thunderstorms to a tornado warning to more rain and storms & flash flooding to cold and snow on the ground in 24 hours. Wow. -David F.

Guess what this means? It means I am giving the green light to go to bed and get some rest. It’s definitely been a crazy day folks. Rain will be ending here soon and we will begin the drying out process slowly. Be safe if you have to work in the morning. -David F.

16/02/2025

As if today’s crazy weather wasn’t enough, we have a chance of snow later on tonight where an inch or less of accumulation is expected as temperatures drop into the 20’s. -David F.

Okay folks, I need for everyone to pay attention to the map because we are going to summarize what I am seeing at this time. What we do know: If you live WEST of the yellow line, you are free and clear of any severe potential. However, moderate to heavy rain, with some thunder and lightning will be expected for a little while behind the storms. Again, if you are west of the yellow line I have drawn, those areas are in the clear and the severe weather threat is done. Now, if you live EAST of the yellow line, you are still under the gun for the potential of severe storms including damaging winds, large hail, and possibly a tornado (although low). Ongoing flooding issues will get worst as more heavy rain moves in with the line and behind the line. Also, if you are under a Flash Flood Warning and most locations are, move to higher ground. If you encounter a flooded roadway, DO NOT attempt to drive through it. It is certainly not safe. TURN AROUND……..DON’T DROWN. I hope everyone reads this very important information so you will know what to do. We want you to be safe out there. -David F.

We are watching this bowing line segment now hitting the Oak Grove area with 60 mph winds and quarter size hail potentially. There is a severe thunderstorm warning for this area right now. Guthrie, Clarksville, and Cedar Hill, be on the lookout for this thunderstorm as the potential for those threats listed exists with this storm. Heavy flooding rainfall is occurring with this storm as well. -David F.

16/02/2025

The main line of storms that we were concerned about has now cleared Hopkins County. Only moderate to heavy rain with thunder and lightning is expected. -David F.

Taking a look at the big picture and as I said, the last push of moisture associated with our heavy rainfall and severe weather as the front is in the process of moving through the area. We now have a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Christian and Trigg Counties in Kentucky and Montgomery County for 60 mph winds and large hail. Once this main line of concern clears your area, the severe threat will wind down quickly, but the heavy rainfall and threat will remain behind for awhile, and temperatures will free fall through the evening. We are watching the southeast corner of the Pennyrile area and Northern Middle Tennessee for any severe storms. Hang in there guys, I know it’s been a long day, but we will get through it together. I’ll have another update soon. -David F.
