We have been going chapter by chapter through Jon DePue and Douglas Campbell’s upcoming book on our YouTube channel Apocalypse Here. Our latest video was a great one where we hit on the extremely important topic of God’s UNCONDITIONAL covenant he’s made with us and contrasting that with the conditional contract that many Christians will claim that God relates to us with.

If God’s love is conditional then it’s not real love at all and we are all at the mercy of a God who doesn’t love.

I went through a great Essay written by Matthew Thiessen tonight. Please check it out and leave a comment on the video with any thoughts you may have.

In the paper Thiessen makes a strong case for the idea that Jesus did not have an issue with the cultic practices of his fellow Jews. Thiessen does this by looking at three aspects of 1st century Jewish religion; the Temple, the Ritual purity system, and Sacred Times.
