German Chocolate Cupcake Stout

This was our bonus beer on the most recent . It's a moderatly sweet stout with very strong chocolate notes. The problem with this beer comes in expectations. It is literally named after motor oil.... We were expecting something thick and viscous. When this beer came in with it's fairly thin body we were quite disappointed. It's overall a very approachable and well rounded stout but we wanted more for body.... Like a lot more body

Cranberry Raspberry Gose -

This was the first beer we sampled from this brewery and it was pretty good overall. Fairly strong acidic tartness. We found the cranberry to be the strongest flavors with the other ingredients taking a back seat for the most part. With a hint of corriander and sea salt, this is a well rounded sour that we liked!

Motto - Good City Brewing
Pale Ale

Sort of a no thrills pale ale in our estimation. Semi strong citrus notes followed by light wheat flavor. Not a bad beer by any stretch but lacks that X-Factor or something to set it apart from the crowd

Enlighten -
Kolsch Style Ale

Fairly wheaty and semi-sweet. Very thin bodied and overall quite good!

Sampled this beer as well as 3 others from Chapman's this week.
I'd say easily a top 3 Brewery in Indiana right up there with Floyd's and 18th Street

Not as smooh as it's barrel aged brethren but still remarkably good considering its ABV

Two Of By Citra - New England IPA
Windmill Brewing, Dyer IN

Not nearly as juicy as other beers we sample from Windmill. This beer falls more into the classic Midwest IPA category. While the hop blend is comfortable and familiar, it lacks that something extra for us. We did taste an herbal type spice flavor that built in intensity throughout the sampling.

This beer is worth your time to try but not a home run for us

Pale Dutch Boy - American Pale Ale
Windmill Brewing, Dyer IN

An interesting take on a classic beer. Strong juicy flavors are contrasted with a classic Simcoe hop punch. Doesn't leave your mouth particularly dry and extremely drinkable. Mouthfeel on the semi creamy side.
