The GFS model holds on to a high pressure system In Arizona keeping the trough up to the north. Very hot conditions for the southwest and through Texas. Rain and storms will stay north over the ridge with a north westerly flow. Meaning the central and the northeast will see most of the rain.

Another severe weather event for Friday across the mid south. Tornado threat is low to non existent as of right now. The main concerns are large hail and damaging winds. There also could be an upgrade to an enhanced risk (level 3 out of 5) in later updates.

With the jet stream pushing further to the north it will limit the severe weather threat for the next few days.

Severe thunderstorms are expected across eastern Arkansas, northern Mississippi, Alabama and southern Georgia tomorrow. Main impacts: damaging winds.

Enhanced risk for severe storms from eastern Colorado to northern Oklahoma. Slight risk for severe storms from Michigan down to the Carolinas. Tornado threat is low, but not zero. #staysafe

High pressure in Arizona will cause hot temperatures in the southwest through Texas. It will keep the trough to the northern part of the United States keeping the rain and storms from the Dakotas to the north east.

Severe thunderstorms are possible tomorrow from eastern Missouri into southern Illinois. Main hazards: large hail and damaging winds.

Recycling tornado that later produced a strong tornado near bay springs, Ms on June 18th 2023.

I took this back on March 31st 2023 of the devastating Little Rock, Arkansas tornado.

Strong line of storm coming into the Little Rock metro. Gusty winds is associated with this line.

8 to more than 12 inches of rain has fallen around Louisville, Ms. Very dangerous situation.

There could be some localized flash flooding with these storms in east Mississippi and west Alabama. Take it easy on your morning commute.

Few severe storms on going in Missouri and southeastern Kansas. This line will continue to weaken over the next couple of hours.

Nearly 4-8 inches of rain has fallen near stamps, Arkansas. Flash flooding is likely ongoing. Turn around don’t drown.
