Awoke this morning to some snow covered peaks. Winter is coming…

The haunting spectacle of the Chetamon Wildfires.
Caused by lightning strike in the early morning of September 1st.
As close as 15 km from the town of Jasper at one point, covering approximately 5800 hectares. The power has caused intermediate power outages for about a week, although power seems to be restored to most of the town.

It’s been raining yesterday and today and it’s supposed to continue for a few days. Hopefully it will douse the flames for good.

It’s been sketchy with warnings of evacuation, it’s felt like camping using propane stoves to cook food and coolers to keep the rest cold. We charged our electronics when the power came back on temporarily.

Fortunately my workplace had generators so I was able to charge my phone, camera, use the microwave and store frozen food in the freezer.

I feel like the worse has past and now It’s starting to look like the power will remain on going forward. So now I’ll actually be able to create and put out more videos of my adventures in Jasper!

Can’t wait to share more videos, views and vibes!

Lake Louise, throw back to June when I was visiting the Rockies on vacation. The colours of this lake.👌🏻
