Uncovering the Dark History of

In the past, the King's wife was punishable by . Those caught were taken to " dataa tua" for ex*****on. The photo shows the ex*****on stone, where heads were severed by an axe.

The gruesome ritual involved:
- Beheading on the stone
- Throwing the head into the nearby baobab tree
- Cutting off an arm to send to the King as proof of ex*****on
- Feeding the remaining body to wild animals in the nearby forest

Today, remnants of this dark past still exist in Yendi: the ex*****on stone, baobab tree, the axe and the forest (now a residential area)

Visit Yendi to witness history firsthand! Contact Abubakari Is-haq Motariga for more information.

Stay tuned for my next post to discover what led to the of this practice!

Musah Dankwa writes

Speciall poll conducted in the Greater Accra shows NPP's decline in party affiliation is now nationwide. Compared to the last tracking poll dated November 2024, NPP has dropped from 30% party affiliations to 18% while the NDC has moved from 41% to 59%.

The data shows scores of NPP sympathizers and voters who normally don't disclose their party affiliations move to NDC. The worrying aspect of the data for NPP is that, their voters did not move from NPP to floating or not disclose but rather straight to NDC. This could make it harder for them to return any time soon.

CONDEMNATION OF ATTACKS ON BUSES AND MILITARY BRUTALITIES

The Mamprugu Youth Association (MAYA) strongly condemns the recent attacks on travelers along the Bolga-Walewale-Tamale Highway, as well as the Bolga-Bawku-Pulmakoom Highway in the North East and Upper East Regions.

These violent incidents are both morally reprehensible and religiously unacceptable. We call on those responsible to cease these attacks immediately and allow peace to prevail.

While we denounce the actions of those perpetrating these attacks, we also condemn the military’s unprofessional conduct in brutalizing innocent community members. These civilians, already suffering emotional and psychological distress due to the ongoing insecurity, should not be subjected to further brutalities and inhumane treatment. Such acts of brutality will not resolve the situation but rather escalate tensions and deepen the crisis.

For the past three years, there have been numerous attacks on vehicles plying the Bolga-Bawku-Poulimakom highway specifically in in the Binduri and the Pusiga districts leading to the tragic loss of lives and property. In fact, three separate attacks have been carried out since President John Dramani Mahama took office. It is trite knowledge that these three attacks were directly targeted at vehicles under military escorts. We are yet to see any curfew imposed in those areas. Till date, no curfew is imposed on Binduri or Pusiga neither have we witnessed any brutalities against those who perpetrate these attacks in the way that it is being carried in the North East Region.

These attacks we believe are the root cause of the current insecurities and threats on innocent commuters along the Bolgatanga - Walewale-Tamale highway and yet, deaf ears have been paid to finding ways of nipping them in the bud. What we are rather witnessing are unprofessional and brute treatment meted out to innocent community members of the Walewale enclave and this is totally unacceptable. The people of Walewale should be allowed to go about their normal businesses while the security gets to the task of finding the perpetuators of the attacks in the Bolgatanga-Walewale-Tamale highway. Imposing curfew on Walewale and its environs is a lazy approach. The people of Walewale are not second-class citizens of this country and must be treated fairly.

We can confirm that the military’s excessive force has resulted in the tragic loss of a young man’s life—an innocent victim with no involvement in the incidents. Several others are nursing life threatening injuries and might be maimed. We urge the authorities to ensure justice for the affected communities and adopt measures that prioritize the protection and well-being of all citizens.

We are also calling on the government to as a matter of urgency halt the military actions with immediate effect and exhibit neutrality and fairness in handling matters relating to the chieftaincy conflict in Bawku to avoid blowing the conflict out of proportion.

We are again appealing to the youth to exercise greatest restraint and be law abiding as we have always been in such difficult times. The Mamprugu Youth Association (MAYA) remains committed to advocating for peace, justice, and security in our region.

Signed
Iddrisu Shaibu (PRESIDENT (MAYA)
