Hey fam, I know I’ve been quiet for a while. I wanted to check in and let y’all know I have not forgotten about you! Switching to a new job, which I love, but is also time consuming and I’ve needed to spend some time taking care of myself, resting when I can.

While I want to get you content every other week, sometimes it might not happen. I hope you all are excited for some wonderful new episodes coming your way.

I don’t know about you, but I love this time of year. Back to school meant new school supplies, new clothes, new classes. Yup, I get excited for back to school shopping 🤓

That time I was constantly inventing a new me for the year to come. But I love the idea of inventing yourself each day.

New day, new week, almost a new month, great time to invent yourself. Do not let others narrate, dictate, or define YOUR story.

I’m going to share something vulnerable here. I don’t know how to handle myself when everything in my life is good/stable. Recently I went into an anxiety attack thinking up every possible way each scenario that is going so well now, could turn into a disaster. Because, well, I have no major life issues at the moment.

Why do we do this to ourselves? I can’t speak for everyone but is it so crazy to allow myself to be happy, and let good things happen to me? What in this world has made us think we don’t deserve this?

Lean into joy this week. Whether the joy is a good playlist, a great meal, seeing friends. Find your joy, and live in it.

✨Playing hurt means doing your best.
✨Playing hurt means you are resilient
✨Playing hurt means you are fighting back

I was listening to The Skinny Confidential by Lauryn Evarts podcast with guest Doug Bopst recently and I heard this quote. It resonated with me and my mission so much. If you don’t play hurt, don’t expect to get very far.

Life sucks, and sometimes it hurts like hell. Instead of having a “why me” victim mentality, start saying “what have I learned that can help me pivot?” Or, “what does this open for me?”

I myself am trying to practice this mindset. You are the victim if you play the victim. You are a warrior if you fight through the pain.
