Nawazuddin Siddiqui reacts to The Kerala Story ban: If a film has the power to break people and social harmony then it’s extremely wrong

Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Anurag Kashyap have both expressed their opinion in support of the Sudipto Sen directorial, 'The Kerala Story', which has been banned in some states despite the Supreme Court allowing for its screening last week. Nawazuddin believes that we should never ban films and they should foster social harmony and love instead of breaking people apart and causing social discord. The movie has earned 200 crore in the India box office and continues to be successful across the country.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui has reacted to the ban on the recently released movie The Kerala Story. He agrees with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, that to ban a movie without viewing it is wrong. However, he clarified that if a film or a novel is hurting someone, then that’s wrong. Nawazuddin Siddiqui reacts to The Kerala Story ban: If a film has the power to break people and social harmony then it’s extremely wrong

Nawazuddin Siddiqui has agreed with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap's statement against the ban imposed on The Kerala Story. He said that films should be made with the aim of fostering social harmony and love among people, and anything that contributes to breaking up the people and disturbing the social harmony is wrong. He further states that it is our responsibility to propagate live and love, and nothing in the world deserves to be banned. The Kerala Story, starring Adah Sharma, has earned Rs 200 crore at the India box office. It tells the story of women from Kerala who were forcefully converted and recruited by the terror group Islamic State (IS).

Nawazuddin Siddiqui reacts to The Kerala Story ban: If a film has the power to break people and social harmony then it’s extremely wrong

Ukraine war: Wagner chief vows to hand Bakhmut to Russian army by June

Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner mercenary group in Russia, has vowed to transfer control of the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut to the Russian army by June 1. Kyiv says it still controls parts of the city, however it's believed Wagner mercenaries have slowly eroded Kyiv's resistance. Ukraine's Deputy Defence Minister, Hanna Maliar, has stated the Ukrainian forces still have a small foothold inside the city. The capture of Bakhmut would bring Russia closer to its goal of controlling the Donetsk region, but analysts say Bakhmut is of little strategic value to Moscow. There were about 70,000 people living in Bakhmut before the invasion, but only a few thousand remain. The US has said it believes more than 20,000 Russian soldiers have been killed and 80,000 wounded in the battle for Bakhmut.

F-18 fighter jet accident at Zaragoza airbase as pilot ejects successfully

An F-18 fighter jet crashed at a Spanish airbase Saturday near Zaragoza. The pilot ejected successfully and is recovering in the hospital. The Spanish defense ministry said the aircraft fell within the perimeter of the base. Videos posted online show the plane in flames as it fell to the ground. The Guardia Civil reported the pilot had suffered injuries to his legs and was evacuated to the hospital via helicopter. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Despite the influx of visitors, many of them are known to have bad behaviour like drunkenness, violence, and property damage. The locals are feeling the pressure of the surge, with prices of real estate, motorbikes, and cars skyrocketing, and the number of Russians children in local schools filling up to capacity. The presence of Russians in Phuket has strained tensions between visiting Russians and other residents, and even between Russians and Ukrainians, with many Ukrainians in Phuket being physically assaulted by Russians. Thailand's neutrality towards the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict has also caused unease.

‘Not Thailand anymore’: Russians are flocking to this resort island — but not all is well in paradise

Phuket, Thailand, is expecting to welcome one million Russian visitors this year, making them the largest demographic of foreign visitors to the island. Although many are just terrified young men seeking paradise, some are evading the draft or buying property as a ticket to a new life. However, the influx of Russian visitors is causing tension among both the local population and Ukrainians in the area, who feel vulnerable amongst the larger Russian community. Russians are known for bad behaviour, including drunkenness, violence, and drug smuggling. There are also concerns that they are taking local jobs and driving up prices in real estate, motorbikes, and cars. Despite Thailand's neutrality towards the Russian-Ukrainian war, Thai people are expressing sorrow for the conflict and acknowledging that it brings much-needed money to the island.
