Such devastating news 💔 Chief Greeley was always coming up with story ideas and treated reporters in Bangor with the utmost respect. He often had little treats for us & you always knew if you needed anything he was a phone call away. Thinking of everyone in Maine who knew him & the Holden community.

It is with profound sadness that the Holden Police Department shares that after a brief illness, Chief Christian Greeley passed away last night.
Chief Greeley served the Citizens of Penobscot County in various Police Departments for over 32 years. He was a Patrol Officer for the Town of Veazie, Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Brewer and finally the Town of Holden.
Chief Greeley started working as a Patrol Officer for the Town of Holden in 2007. He worked his way through the ranks and was promoted to the Chief in September 2015.
He truly understood Community Policing and cared deeply for the Citizens of the Town of Holden along with the people he worked with. He started the 25 Days of Kindness with a few hundred donated dollars and turned it into an event that raised over $25,000 last year.
Chief Greeley was also known by many for his part time career as fill in host on the George Hale/Rick Tyler Radio Show where he would often fill in through out the year and interview a variety of guests.
Chief Greeley’s humor, stories and personality will be missed greatly by those of us who have known him for many years.
Funeral Arrangements will follow at a later time.
