We all woke up feeling sick, the kids have been on level 10000 for days , and there’s 3 baskets of laundry to do. But today is day 19 of 75 hard! I feel like I’m finally starting to see a difference. Fingers crossed this sickness is just a cold so I can keep pushing through! ❤️💪🏻

I always hear people saying if they have to go to the gym to work out, the work out will never get done because they can’t get themselves to go. I’m the opposite.😅 If I have to work out at home I will procrastinate all day long and talk myself into never getting it done. Anyone else this way? 😵‍💫 cheers to getting my butt moving and getting it done…. Eventually. 😂

If you’d seen my three-year-old strolling about Target this evening, you probably would’ve assumed I’d lost a battle.

You know, the battle to get a toddler to wear actual clothes in public places.

Rather than Christmas jammies that are definitely at least one size too small paired daringly with bright yellow rain boots.

But there was no battle. No fuss. No frustration. No giving into tears or an epic tantrum.

Because I didn’t even start the battle. Didn’t fight it one bit. And not because I’m tired (though I am). And not because I don’t care what other people think (I do, and I’m working on it).

I simply looked at my sweet boy standing there exclaiming he was ready to go in that exhilarating ensemble and thought, gosh, what a joy it is to see him so happy. And what a joy it must be to be three. To strut confidently down the aisles in this getup. To not feel at all hindered or constrained by expectations and norms.

So no, I didn’t lose a battle today, though I’m sure it looked like it. And no, he won’t be wearing jammies out and about in most places or situations. I simply recognized the joy of my sweet, innocent, goofy child, and I met him there. Something I want to do more of in a world where kids have so little space and time to be kids. And let me tell ya—watching him race about in that outfit absolutely made my day, too.
