It is my experience to create a warm and diversified community. This means full of immigrants, locals, disabilities and gay and le***an LBGTQ and Seniors.

This is what makes the economy grow and builds culture and committment on all levels of government to build a safe and execepting communities.

I have seen alot of people with problems with the Canadian lifestyle but its not that difficult to be inclusive and treat people with respect and dignity. How many times have I had to challenge the system because our human rights as people living in EASt Van were infringed upon.

Once I had to get an employment lawyer beause the company I was working for didn't want to give me the hours or $15 an hour. The Canadian minimum wage has gone up and I had to fight to keep my job mowing lawns and janitorial work.
The is sad becasue this was a church! After the contract ended they did'nt hire me back and since providing me with no explanation to why they were not going to pay me what a person working in the city needs to survive I called a lawyer.
I am a person that feels it was against my belief system to be treated with out basic employment laws be govern I took to the help of an emplyment lawyer. We did negoitate in good faith and for the remander of the contract I was paid $15 an hour for gardening work.

That place Im no longer working at I have since moved on. If they could'nt afford a gardener why did they hire me and to make matters worse the church has grown exponentially to staff almost hundreds of staff paying them much more than minimum wage.

So what is the shame here as now the city is on an employment dirve to have everyone employed and righfully so! But when will we have good governance that takes care of its own. And provides workplace for all people in the community regardless of race, religion, s*x, gender, and disability. Many more stories I have that can describe the local Business Owners.
