“Forget Remixed” is the latest Various Artists compilation from GERYON.

Inspired by the Dutch cellist and electronic music producer René van Munster’s original GERYON debut “Forget EP,” this collection features ten distinct electronic artists from around the world - GERYON residents and guests: Immortal Science, Nyokabi Kariūki, SAN, lil yuzu, Zeynep Toraman, Joseph Brooks, Perfect Deleted Futures, HALCYON, him.saint, and René himself.

“Forget Remixed” goes beyond the typical remix album, offering a sophisticated reimagining and recontextualization of the entire sonic landscape of the original “Forget” release.

GERYON returns with a brand new electroacousiric gem: The Dutch producer and cellist René van Munster’s debut record “Forget” EP!

“Forget” blends lush orchestral strings with achingly distorted synths into a tableau of tender, haunting soundscapes. The title track blooms from shifting dronedchords into string arpeggios, finally boiling over into aggressive layered fuzz and pounding bass. “Timegrains” follows, cleansing the pallette with gentle, dreamy granulations. “Forgo” brings back the intensity of “Forget”, revisiting the intense rhythmic layering of acoustic and synthetic worlds, before giving way to closer “Angel”’s sparsely accompanied cello solo, haloed by delicate ambiance. A must-listen for fans of Fennessz and Ben Frost.

Immortal Science’s sophomore EP weaves together dub techno and breakbeat hardcore influences into a rave-tinged tapestry of skittering claps and throwback vocal hooks. After opening cheeky garage stepper “Trial By Combat”, title track “God Mode” translates techstep DnB’s gothic scifi magesty through a stomping techno lens. Science closes out with “Golden Husk”’s stripped down forward-drive, and the blissed out arpeggios of “Our Crew”.

NY-based Immortal Science’s “God Mode” filters the gothic scifi magesty of 90s techstep drumbass through a stomping 4x4 lens. Staccato claps skitter over chthonic toms, throwback vocal hooks, and incessantly nervous arpeggios, building to a crescendo of ominous stabs and erie atmospherics. “God Mode” teases between genres, not quite techno, not EBM, not garage, but always a loveletter to the dark side of the rave.

Cheeky stepper “trial by combat” pairs a classic jungle vocal hook with a gqom synths stabs, while title track “god mode” filters techstep DnB’s gothic scifi magesty through a stomping techno lense. Science rounds it out with two dub inflected 4x4s. “golden husk”’s stripped down forward drive builds into a staggering FM bass meltdown, and closer “our crew”’s synth arpeggios melt in and out of balearic ambiance.
