Did you know that Peradeniya Botanical Garden is one of the most picturesque gardens in Sri Lanka?
The garden also has several themed sections, including a spice garden, a bamboo garden, a medicinal plants section, and more.
The Royal Botanic Gardens at Peradeniya was established in 1821, six years after the final occupation of the Kandyan Kingdom by the English. The site is less than 5.5 Km from Kandy on the Colombo Road, and occupies a loop of the river Mahaweli, which surrounds it on all sides except the south, where it is bounded by the main road.
The area 61.25 hq in extent, is about 1550ft from sea level and noted for its rich and varied collection of tropical woody plants. More than 4000 species of plants including woody trees, Palms, Ferns, Orchids and shrubs currently present within the gardens.

Can't believe that we just swam on the top of a 220m high waterfall and definitely one of the coolest places anyone would love to be 😍!
📍: Diyaluma waterfall, Srilanka 🇱🇰
This is 220 m (720 ft) high and the second highest waterfall in Sri Lanka. It's about 1hr drive from Ella, then 20mins tuktuk ride and about 30mins extreme hike!

Dreaming of a Instagramable hill full of coconut trees overlooking turquoise blue sea?
Mirissa is one of the popular beaches in Sri Lanka and this view point is called the Coconut Tree Hill which is Located south of Galle, famous for it's landscape lined with tall coconut trees overlooking the indian sea and is one of the most instagrammable places in downsouth, Srilanka. However, to be able to take a photo without other people you should definitely be there at sunrise.
Oh well... We just drove there in the morning and let ourselves be surprised. And thanks to Corona, we had the hill to ourselves for almost half an hour and we were able to spend the time there as a couple and create some good content too...
There are 2 ways to reach this point.
Path 1 - Leads through a private property. It's the easiest way to reach the view point.
Path 2 - A short hike from the beach side. This is the best way to reach the view point and goes through the Sunset Bar.

"Wallam"; Traditional Fishing Catamarans in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰🛶🐠
📍: Dodanduwa(Fishing Village)🇱🇰
Wallam is one of the most useful traditional fishing catamarans in srilanka. Wallama could be in few different sizes depending on the requirement of the fisherman & the type of fish they catch.
They were more taller in their front part of these beautiful catamarans & their tall rocket shape front was used to stand on it to look around when sailing in deep sea. These were also mostly used to catch Tuna fish & were purposely made with a thin & sharp front like an arrow to cruise faster. This shape also helped them to carry a larger weight after their daily catch.
Fisherman nowadays uses these Wallam catamarans with powerful motor engines to cruise faster & safer to catch more fish in a short period of time.

A short hike to the summit of the Rumassala Hill and you’ll find yourself in awe of the pristine pagoda. Enjoy the unhindered and stunning views of the coast and the bustling town of Galle when you reach the top.

"Ritipanna" is the Sinhalese term for stilt fishing, which is a traditional method for fishing practiced by most fishermen along the southern coast of Sri Lanka.
This art is popularly seen in areas such as Ahangama, Koggala, Welipenna, Kathaluwa and Thalarambe.
This picturesque/ insta worthy view of stilt fishermen is a huge attraction for tourists. On their list of ‘things to do in Sri Lanka’ is an opportunity to test their skills and for photographs at stilt fishing in exchange for cash from the stilt fishermen.

My visit to "Our Lady of Lanka Thewatte Basilica".

Our Lady of Lanka is a Roman Catholic Basilica in Thewatte, just outside the city of Colombo. It is one of the most popular Roman Catholic churches in Srilanka.
Outside of the Basilica has plenty to see. These include the four convents, the Museum and Jubilee Hall, the Retreat House, the new and old grottos of Our Lady of Lourdes, the bathing pond and lake, the old church.
Our Lady of Lanka began its life in 1911 as a tiny chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes (Mary Immaculate), France. It was built by the local pastor Fr. A. Kieger. Years later in 1917 another pastor of the chapel Fr. A. Collorec had a grotto built for Our Lady of Lourdes, with the assistance of some Catholic workers from Colombo.
On February 4, 1950 the cornerstone for the basilica was laid. Construction was done with great care and creativity for many years. It was completed in 1974, a year after Pope Paul VI endowed the church with the title of Minor Basilica. On February 6, 1974, the consecration of the Basilica and crowning of the statue of Our Lady of Lanka took place; making it the National Basilica of Sri Lanka. To this day it received tens of thousands of pilgrims annually, making it one of the most popular churches in the country.
