Gaining leadership skills isn’t easy, and it’s fair to say that some people find taking the lead easier than others. In this guid I'm going to carefully walk you through this five Cs that will enable you to become not just and effective but one that will drive results in your organization, industry or workplace.
Let's take a look.

1.𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Being a good leader requires excellent communication skills, this means possessing the ability to listen to people as well as the ability to share ideas. These skills also relate to the capacity to negotiate when necessary and manage issues of conflict.
To become a great leader, you must be able to communicate with people in a variety of situations; and not only communicate but communicate well.
Effective leaders share ideas with their team as well as listen to what their teams have to say, aware of the importance of building relationships with colleagues. They create a bond of trust, showing interest in their team’s professional and personal goals.

2.𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲
To be an effective leader, you will need to display confidence. You can demonstrate this trait through both the way you conduct yourself and your actions.
It’s important to be aware that being confident does not mean being brash and pushy. Rather, you can display it through more subtle actions, like being decisive and having faith in your abilities.
Faith. Effective leaders have faith in themselves, believing in their abilities. When people believe in themselves, those surrounding will also believe it. A leader is someone who uses their best judgment and is confident when making decisions.

3.𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁
Demonstrating commitment to the cause or organisation you are working for will create goodwill and overall positive outcomes. Showing commitment to those around you also contributes to good relationships and, in turn, can inspire similar commitment at every level of the organisation.
Commitment is among the most difficult “C’s” to embody as a leader. It relies on a principled, resolute approach, wherein all avenues have been explored and all ideas investigated. It also requires a good degree of self-confidence, and a belief that your approach is best for the outcome of the wider business or project of the organization.

4.𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆
The best leaders are often those who can think in a creative, innovative way. If you find it hard to look at situations from different perspectives, you will find it more of a challenge to lead since leaders need to be able to look at the big picture. Being creative will also help when it comes to problem-solving and making decisions.
Leaders must be quick on their toes, able to adapt to a variety of situations. A leader can make magic happen by thinking outside of the box. Of course, not everyone is naturally gifted with creativity… The good news is that it is possible to enhance creativity by training the way you think.

5.𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲
Exceptional leaders are empathetic, caring for their people, not just the work they do. People want to feel valued. They want meaningful connection at work.
As a leader make sure you ask them about their life. WhaHow is their family doing? Did they find time to relax on them.
Work isn’t everything, and your people will develop loyalty only when you care about them as people, not as productivity generators.

How can we effectively communicate, especially in a conflicting situation?

Verbal communication is the most common way we connect with each other. With proper communication, we can resolve many issues between us.

Whenever there is an argument or a conflict, most of us become repulsive or defensive. We use words that end up hurting the other person. The inappropriate timing and lack of empathy in our conversation usually make things worse.

To make your communication effective, find a quiet time to speak, start on a positive note, have empathy in your conversation, and don’t point to other person mistakes but suggestions on how you can collectively make things better. It might take little patience to do so, but you will end up building a better relationship.

- So, questioned Socrates, you want to tell me bad things about him and you're not even sure they're true? Maybe you can still pass the test of the third sieve, that of UTILITY. Is it useful that I know what you're going to tell me about this friend?
- No, really.
- So, concluded Socrates, what you were going to tell me is neither true, nor good, nor useful. Why, then, did you want to tell me this?

Why some poultry farmers fail in their projects

Poultry farming is a science that needs many role players as well as many different management procedures, which forms the parts of a successful poultry enterprise. If the role players or management procedures are not correct the poultry farmer is bound to fail.

Due to the increasing demand of chickens and eggs and also quest for self employment, many people are interested in turning their career to the poultry farming with mixed results. Some have succeeded while due to the poor planning, others become failed. They become failed due to their failure to the plan.

Below are some of the major reasons why poultry farming projects fail.

1.Insufficient knowledge (lack of know-how):

Most rush to farming after seeing their neighbors harvests. They don’t take their time to learn about market dynamics and demand and supply curve.

2.Lack of persistence:

Most want instant gratification.They want to be millionaires overnight.They don’t want to face disease challenge or market challenge. All they want is more and more profits. I am sorry to burst your bubble but farming doesn’t work that way.You’ve to toil and sweat. Nothing comes easily.

3.High cost of feeds and poultry equipment:

This has been a pain in the neck. Cost of production has gone over the roof in recent times due to this. I always advise farmers to use creativity and improvise these things e.g buckets in place of drinkers and feeders. Proper feeding management without any wastage is also very important.

4. Insufficient knowledge on marketing:

This is demoralizing at the same time heart breaking.

5.Lack of professionals:

Farmers have to make do with trial and error .Due to this they are left at limbo not able to fight challenges e.g diseases and they really lose a lot.

6.Disease outbreaks:

A very serious problems due to insufficient knowledge on disease managenent.Most farmers don’t follow strict vaccination programmes and biosecurity therefore the birds end up dying en masse.

7.Middle-men and brokers:

These are double-edged swords. Some are good while others are outright evil. Some can be farmer’s worst nightmare as they can take the lion’s share of the product due to the knowledge of the market.They promise you heaven and give you hell.

8. Wrongly advised farmers:

I once encountered a new farmer who was advised by a fellow farmer to give her pullets cow feed and other animals meal inorder to start laying early. The birds matured but even at 7 months none had started laying. Please farmers jealousy and envy is bad for business. If you don’t want to consult a professional you will end up with serious losses.

"According to Psychologists, there are four types of Intelligence:

1) Intelligence Quotient (IQ)
2) Emotional Quotient (EQ)
3) Social Quotient (SQ)
4) Adversity Quotient (AQ)

1. Intelligence Quotient (IQ): this is the measure of your level of comprehension. You need IQ to solve maths, memorize things, and recall lessons.

2. Emotional Quotient (EQ): this is the measure of your ability to maintain peace with others, keep to time, be responsible, be honest, respect boundaries, be humble, genuine and considerate.

3. Social Quotient (SQ): this is the measure of your ability to build a network of friends and maintain it over a long period of time.

People that have higher EQ and SQ tend to go further in life than those with a high IQ but low EQ and SQ. Most schools capitalize on improving IQ levels while EQ and SQ are played down.

A man of high IQ can end up being employed by a man of high EQ and SQ even though he has an average IQ.

Your EQ represents your Character, while your SQ represents your Charisma. Give in to habits that will improve these three Qs, especially your EQ and SQ.

Now there is a 4th one, a new paradigm:

4. The Adversity Quotient (AQ): The measure of your ability to go through a rough patch in life, and come out of it without losing your mind.

When faced with troubles, AQ determines who will give up, who will abandon their family, and who will consider su***de.

Parents please expose your children to other areas of life than just Academics. They should adore manual labour (never use work as a form of punishment), Sports and Arts.

Develop their IQ, as well as their EQ, SQ and AQ. They should become multifaceted human beings able to do things independently of their parents.

Finally, do not prepare the road for your children. Prepare your children for the road."

Your thoughts can bring things to your life, it can also take away things from your life. If you can see it in your mind, you can experience it in your life.
For as a man thinks in his heart, So he is.
Your mentality towards things is what becomes your reality.
Even in a negative situation, train your mind to think positively.

Change it from "I'm broken and helpless" to "I'm healing and building".
Your mind is the battlefield of your life.
If you can win the battle in your mind, you can win the battle of your life.
For life's battle don't always go to the stronger man or woman, but sooner or later, the one who wins is the one who thinks "I CAN".
