Introducing Hannah Willetts as a 2024 John Boyle O'Reilly Scholarship Winner. She is currently attending East Longmeadow High School. Her parents are Timothy Willetts and Martha Healy Willetts. Her grandfather Donald Healy is a member of the John Boyle O'Reilly Club. Hannah is a member of the National Honor Society. She volunteers with peer tutoring and community service activities through the school Key Club and Pink Ribbon Club, as well as, annual involvement in the town's Earth Day. She is an open-champion Irish step dancer who trains with the Cassin Academy of Irish Dance. She also assists the dance school as an instructor for several hours a week. Hannah is very honored to represent her Irish heritage and the greater Springfield area as a member of the 2024 Springfield Colleen Court.

Hannah will be attending UMass Amherst. She has been accepted into the Isenberg School of Management where she will be majoring in Accounting.

The Healys performed Irish music March 3 at Fiddler's Green, sparking thoughts on Irish heritage ahead of St. Patrick's day.

On the Beara Peninsula, another great driving route from Kenmare is the Healy Pass from Lauragh in Kerry, to Adrigole in Cork.

The original track, called the Kerry Pass, was cut during the Great Famine as a poor relief public works project. It was renamed for Timothy Michael Healy, a politician from Cork, who served as the first governor general of the Irish Free State.

The Healy Pass, Bealach Scairte in Irish, was created in 1847 and winds for 12km through the most incredible landscape, crossing the Caha mountain range. Wet or dry, this is a route not to be missed!
