Happy Final Girl Friday homies!! In honor of Erika watching it for the first time yesterday, we’re putting the spotlight on Rebecca (played by Teresa Palmer) from 2016’s Lights Out!! 💡

At the beginning of this movie I was a bit disappointed that they were gonna take her character down the rebellious girl who can’t take responsibility for a kid path. So I was pleasantly surprised when it didn’t go in that direction. Rebecca actually had more layers to her than I was expecting, and I really enjoyed the relationship between her and Martin! I was a bit less interested in her love life, but it is what it is 🤷🏾‍♀️

Also, did anyone else feel like everyone in her life was really giving Rebecca a hard time for every decision she made? Like damn, let the girl breathe lol

We’re heading back to Shudder to talk about this horror comedy that takes a different approach to scary stories! This was a first time watch for Erika and Roshane, and we had little to no information going on. Did we get sufficiently spooked? Were our funny bones rattled? 💀 We also talk about clumsiness, the cycle of creativity, and who amongst us is a pro improviser!

Happy Final Girl Flyday Homies!! 😂 Get it? It’s funny because we’re taking a look at Veronica Quaife played by Geena Davis in The Fly (1986) 🦟

Alright, the person you’ve recently started seeing starts turning into a fly, what you doing next?? Something that I’ve always found interesting is that Ronnie continues to show compassion and care towards Seth, even once the transformation has gotten BAD. Of course she’s scared, but mainly she seems upset at the idea that Seth is losing his humanity. She misses the man she once knew, and tries desperately to get him to return to the surface. Of course, it’s not up to her, and our ending is made all the more emotional by Ronnie’s tearful acceptance that the real Seth is never coming back. 😭

Nah but for real, are y’all still coming around if your partner starts to turn into an insect? Just wondering 👀

This was a first time watch for both of us homies, and this movie was definitely different than we expected. We discuss our thoughts on the re-enactment style of this movie, owl pellets, and Alaska! We also give our quick thoughts on our belief in aliens in general. Also, Erika has some serious questions about the type of tools aliens would use. What are your thoughts on this one, homies?? 🤔

Happy Final Girl Friday Homies!! Today we’re taking a look at the many versions of Sue Snell ( played by Amy Irving in 1976, Kandyse McClure in 2002, and Gabriella Wilde in 2013) in Carrie. 👩🏻

Sue Snell is one of the few people to show Carrie kindness. She feels bad for the way Carrie has been treated by herself and others, and does her best in the movie to make up for it. However, Sue ends up surviving this movie because of a misunderstanding. Depending on the version of this movie you’re watching, Sue is only saved because of circumstances she couldn’t control, and it’s safe to think that she would have been taken out by Carrie’s rage as well. 😤

Sue is a character that means well, but at the same time, she’s a high schooler who has made mistakes and doesn’t really know how to make up for them. What do you guys think of Sue? Which version of her do you prefer?

What’s up homies?! Today we wanted to do something a little bit different, and we have a question for you this Final Girl Friday! Spoilers below for the Friday the 13th remake if you haven’t seen it yet. 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♀️

Today we’re putting the 2009 remake under the microscope. Specifically, we’re looking at Danielle Panabaker’s character Jenna. Our question for you is, should she have been the final girl? Or did you enjoy the fact that she made all the right choices but still didn’t make it? We’d love to hear from you homies, because by all means Jenna is a quintessential final girl.🤔

Maybe the best move they could have made was to kill her off, to show that no one was safe. But man did we enjoy her character, and we wouldn’t have minded seeing her stick around to the end!

It’s cyber Monday, and time for a new episode!!! 💻 We couldn’t end our techno terror talk ( okay alliteration 👏🏾) without chatting about the 2020 movie, Host!

This movie was created during the beginning of lockdown and is completely over a zoom meeting. Was this movie still fresh to us after our previous watches? Did the constraints they faced during filming make this movie better or worse? 🤔 We were super excited to get into this one, and we decide our final thoughts towards the online concept. Also, Erika warns about playing around with spirits while Roshane accepts his addiction to technology. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Final Girl Friday is bringing us Haley Keller (played by Kaya Scodelario) in the movie Crawl, 2019! 🐊

What did you homies think of this one?? We thought it was a lot of fun! Sometimes you just want to sit and watch some big alligators chase some people around! 🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♂️
And Haley was a great character to follow for it. We’re not asking for much really. Just someone who is smart and willing to go head to head to survive. Luckily that’s exactly what we got with Haley. 🏊🏻‍♀️

We enjoyed the layered relationship with her father, and that was a great extra note to the movie. By the end of it, you’re just as relieved as Haley to see help arrive. She fought hard, and it was a wild ride to be along on.

For today’s final girl, we’ve got the HBIC Coraline!! Despite her young age, Coraline was not afraid to show the Other Mother who was the boss! 🕷🕸Coraline was adventurous and witty and was willing to always stand up for herself!! She was never afraid to be different and faced her fears head on. We don’t know about ya’ll, but we want to be Coraline when we grow up 🤷🏽‍♀️

For today’s final girl Friday, we have Max Cartwright from the movie The Final Girls!! In this 2015 horror/comedy that spoofs 80’s slasher films, Max and her friends are transported into a horror movie 🔪She then has to use all of her movie knowledge to defeat the killer and prevail as the final girl! 💁🏼‍♀️ Have any of you homies seen this one?? It’s definitely a fun watch and we recommend it for a Friday night hangout film!
