Its funny. We do the same thing with God and religion. The context expands from classroom to the world, from teaching to living, from knowledge to wisdom, but the format remains the same.
Imagining something so graceful (‘quite student’) and superior instills respect towards duty. No wonder Chesterton blasts modernity for having left it behind, for having the world upside down.
Also Im not surprised Staruss said that. Man was clearer than clear about the subtle fact-value distinction in our minds.
