We did a thing.... We took a day trip to Alabama to pick out 200 year old wood for a beam and mantle!! Such a fun experience!! In 8 weeks we'll go back to pick up the finished pieces!

We've never mounted a TV on the wall before. It's always intimating doing something for the first time, but to save $175 we watched YouTube videos, have our tools and ready to go!

I don't know about you, but I love straight lines, especially in between colors. I don't have a steady hand with a large brush, so I get out these tiny brushes for my edges. It might take a little longer, but the result is perfect! 🖌️

I paint like I color 🎨😆. I trim everything out and then paint the inside. Lol!! Look at how gorgeous this looks!!! I'm so happy we went with the super dark color!!

Can I just say how amazing Command strips are? We hang almost everything with these! No holes, no messed up paint and you can move things around very easily!! 🙌 They are an essential part of decorating your walls!

Selecting paint colors can be challenging, so we like to start with one main decor piece then design and decorate from there. After searching the entire town and online for a duvet that a) fit the look we were going with and b) the price we wanted we decided to make a fun day adventure to one of our favorite stores. Nothing is more fun than waking up on a Saturday to shop, explore and make memories!

We want your help!! 😊 We're building a mantel for our master bedroom. Josh did a sample piece - 1) left side is torched and has a transparent stain over it to add some character and color. 2) right side - is plain with the same transparent stain to bring out the grain. Which side should we go with on the entire mantel?
