Ready to be part of a crazy Canadian comedy set in a typical small town? Of course, everyone knows everyone else, including their business, dreams, and dashed love affairs. What happens when two long-time arch enemies compete in the town’s annual Chili Cook Off? Well, a combination of savoury and sweet ingredients makes this competition a fun exploration of how a lack of honest communication between childhood friends can change those friends’ lives – but not forever.

✨HURONIA PLAYERS, MIDLAND
AUDITION CALL - Gibson and Sons ✨

Actors! Please come out and audition for outstanding Canadian playwright Kristen Da Silva’s brilliantly written warm, chaotic situational comedy set in small town Ontario where a family is struggling to survive and adapt to major lifestyle changes!

While mourning the loss of his wife and the mother to his two sons, Declan and his youngest son, Harry, desperately try to cope with their feelings and additional responsibilities of holding onto their failing family funeral home business. Harry, at the same time, secretly desires to find his first love, but trying to run the funeral business seriously hampers his potential for a normal dating experience; as a result, he resorts to secretly seeking a potential life partner/wife (Katya) via an online dating service.

Added to this chaotic mix, older brother, Luke, who unexpectedly arrives on the scene trying to cope with personal issues of his own.

Katya’s arrival to meet Harry and surprise the Gibson family is further complicated with the unplanned arrival of her older sister Eva who plans to live with Katya and Harry. Both Katya and Eva have absolutely no idea that their new home in Canada is a funeral home.

Add to the mix Aunt Jo and new funeral home intern Becca, who are trying to deal with the chaos and personal problems of the three men while keeping the business under control and you have the recipe for great comedy.
