Enjoy this Halloween poem by our local Poet of Kirby Creek.

The Spectral Parade Noon, October 26, the Saturday before Halloween… ~ Eight there were in staggered line. The view unfettered by brush or by pine. With laughter and song wither they go. Their final destination, nobody knows. ~ Great bags they all carried. Parcels for travel. The mysteries therein...

The Town Hall has received several phone calls from concerned residents about our flag in the center of town not being at half mast. We do apologize for this, but unfortunately on Monday during the mini tornado, there was damage done to the rope and weight causing it to stick at the top. We, regretfully are unable to lower our flag. The fire department has the only ladder in town that is able to reach the top to fix this problem and with the fire that started Monday, they have been very busy. They are taking time tonight to help to get this situation fixed. Again, we apologize that we could not get our Old Glory to where she needed to be during this time of remembrance.

These are only HSC results and do not include other counties for our Senate and House District seats. We will update that information as it is available. It does look like incumbent Ed Cooper has won the Senate District 20 race and incumbent John Winter has won the House District 28 race. Full results will appear in the 8.22.24 print issue of the IR.

Regarding political advertising:

We are attaching the page from the official Wyoming Election Division Campaign Guide that explains the requirements of W.S. 22-25-110. Some ads fall under #4 and do not require a paid for by line. Recently, some ads ran in the IR that were determined to fall under #4. IR staff contacted the Hot Springs County Clerk, who in turn contacted an election official with the Secretary of State’s office, and it was determined the ads in question fall under #4, although they are in opposition to a candidate or candidates. The ads were paid for by an individual who is not a candidate or affiliated with a Political Action Committee or organization.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol, in conjunction with WYDOT, is delivering this safety message to drivers of U.S. 20/WY789 inside Wind River Canyon: "Slower Vehicles, Use Turnouts."

In other words, if you're driving slow, be polite and pull over for safety's sake to allow faster-moving vehicles to get past you with safety in mind.

Thank you!
