𝗪𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘇𝗮 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗮.
In one of our sessions, we explored the 𝗥𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 — a simple yet powerful approach to giving feedback that is both kind and clear.
𝗪𝗵𝘆?
Because in filmmaking (and life), feedback shapes trust, performance, and culture. And when we care personally while challenging directly, we build teams that thrive — on and off set.

A huge thank you to the incredible Cecimercy Wanza for an invaluable session at MSMP! As an award-winning filmmaker, Ceci is dedicated to amplifying untold African stories with raw authenticity.

Her hot take? The biggest directing myth is that it's just calling "action." In reality, it's about vision, empathy, relentless problem-solving, and orchestrating "accidents." It's a role that starts long before the set.

We wish you continued prosperity, Ceci, and hope you'll be back to share your new experiences with our mentees soon! 🎬

When it comes to storytelling that moves hearts and challenges perspectives, Joan Rispa is a force to reckon with. An award-winning Kenyan filmmaker, Joan is passionate about amplifying overlooked voices through character-driven narratives, often featuring strong, fearless female protagonists.

She’s not just a filmmaker; she’s a voice amplifier, a mentor, and an inspiration. In our last two mentorship sessions, Joan has poured her wealth of industry knowledge into our Mcheza Sinema Mentorship Program, leaving our mentees not only wiser but also more fired up to create and navigate the film industry.

We’re deeply grateful for the time, insight, and generosity you’ve shared with us, Joan. May you keep soaring higher as we take your lessons and work towards shaping a film industry in Kenya, and beyond, that tells stories with impact!
