DID YOU KNOW?

The short concept film 'Napunyi' revolves around a young lady who is forced to pick up boxing secretly in order to fight off notorious neighborhood bullies. For that reason, the lead actor Auudi Rowa (Napunyi) & her challenger Innocent Njuguna (Champez) had to train how to box off from scratch, which was an entirely new concept to them.

They underwent a three day intensive training conducted by renowned stunt coordinator Lwandar Jawar and which took place at Africa Film & Television Talent Training Institute (AFTTTI)

Watch how they fought it off here on Vumi central:https://watch.vumicentral.com/product/napunyi/

WHAT NEXT FOR THEATRE?

With the current COVID-19 pandemic, theatre has been brought to a standstill. Theatre companies have cancelled their performances and as a result, are struggling to put food on the table. This also means that theatre lovers are missing out on the entertainment and education that theatrical performances provide.

With the current measures put by respective governments on social distancing and banning of public gathering, it is practically impossible for theatre companies to rehearse, let alone put up a show.

Join us on our FREE webinars running every Wednesday from 22nd July to 12th August as we have a discussion on how theatre can adapt to the current pandemic as well as discuss the future of theatre in Africa. Click the link below to register for the first webinar.
