We have some exciting news! The Digital Transformation Grant 4.0 has reopened for Ontario businesses!

The DTG $2500 grant goes towards your small business's digital marketing! This can include costs such as hiring a consultant/agency/person to execute digital marketing initiatives or graphic design software.

The application portal will only be open from January 10th until January 31st (or until the grants are exhausted), so apply now!

I had to take my dogs to the vet today for their annual check-up. The three of them (one’s missing from this pic) behaved so well that we stopped for a treat at Timmies on the way home 😁.

During the drive, I thought about how much I love this vet clinic and the staff. I worked for a vet for 10 years, through high school and college. That vet was the greatest boss, and he will forever be one of my favourite people on this entire planet 🌎.

After we moved out of the area, I had to find another vet to take our pets to, and none of them gave me the same feel as what I was used to. Until our current vet. I never dread having to take my pets in because I know they'll receive excellent care from a fantastic vet and a wonderful staff. It makes my life easier and less stressful to know I have this help when it comes to looking after my fur babies.

The same can be said for finding the right virtual assistant to help you with your business. The right person will provide the support you need and make things easier and less stressful, because you know the work will get done properly, and on time. It might take some time to find the right fit, but bringing a VA on board can make a huge difference for your business and your peace of mind.

🤔 Do you maintain a blog? If so, lucky you! You’ve got access to all sorts of content! All you have to do is repurpose it and you’ve got new content, saving you time and effort, while also driving people to your website.

If you don’t have a blog, now is the time to think about starting one. Blogs are still relevant, and that longform content can be turned into other longform content, like YouTube videos, or all sorts of shortform content.

👋 Hey there! I’m Rebecca. I help small business owners and solopreneurs by working on the admin side of their business: social media scheduling, documents creation and editing, organizing file storage, etc.

And while I actually love doing admin work and helping business owners feel organized, it’s only a small portion of my life.

I’m the kind of person who goes full send when I’m passionate about something.

From books 📚 and horses 🐴, to chickens 🐔 and gardening 🌱. All are things that I’ve gone off the deep end for. I read a ridiculous number of books in a year, and my first business was a market garden farm. Horses were my whole personality for a good chunk of my life.

But, what I’ve been most passionate about for well over a decade now, is fishing. My first fishing outings were just so I could spend time with my husband while he did something he loved. He wasn’t satisfied at that though. Somehow, he made fishing fun. He taught me how to fish, how to ID fish, and how to read the water. Before I knew it, the addiction took over.

Fishing was the gateway to so many things in my life. I started writing a blog about our fishing adventures, and through that I met so many amazing people. I started volunteering, which lead to opportunities to do stream restoration and teach other women to fish. And then I went back to school and ended up working as an aquatic biologist for a few years.

Most weekends you’ll find me in a boat, camping next to a lake, or preparing for our next trip. My love of fishing and being outdoors is why I wanted to create a business that could be worked on remotely, giving me the flexibility to work from anywhere.

👉 Do you ever get distracted by scrolling through social media and realize you’ve wasted an hour? Honestly, I did it while creating this post 🤦‍♀️. Some days I really need to turn the app blocker on.

Controlling the time you spend on social media will allow you to get more done in your day. You could scroll for 2 hours, or you could create a new freebie. Scroll, or ship out some orders.

Social media is fantastic and a huge part of any business these days, but you need to be smart about how you use it.
