Is the ‘bottle cap code’ true?
While it may be true that some brands follow this code, it’s clear that this is not a standard that can be applied universally. For example, when searching for “alkaline water” on Amazon, one can find several examples of alkaline water being sold with blue or clear caps. The same can be said for spring water.
Given this, a few users claimed that they would not be following any supposed “bottle cap code.”
As one user put it, “I’ll just be reading the ingredients.”

The office of Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón has said charges cannot be brought against Sean “Diddy” Combs following the circulation online of a video showing the music mogul punching and kicking his former girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura.
A statement, released on Friday, said: “We are aware of the video that has been circulating online allegedly depicting Sean Combsassaulting a young woman in Los Angeles. We find the images extremely disturbing and difficult to watch.
“If the conduct depicted occurred in 2016, unfortunately we would be unable to charge as the conduct would have occurred beyond the timeline where a crime of assault can be prosecuted.
“As of today, law enforcement has not presented a case related to the attack depicted in the video against Mr Combs, but we encourage anyone who has been a victim or witness to a crime to report it to law enforcement or reach out to our office for support from our Bureau of Victims Services.”
The incident allegedly took place in 2016 at the InterContinental Hotel in the Century City area of Los Angeles. CNN verified the location based on publicly available photos of the hotel’s former interior.
After pushing Ms Ventura to the ground, Combs retrieves a purse and suitcase from the floor near the elevators. He turns around and kicks her again as she lies on the floor.
Ms Ventura is later seen in the footage slowly standing up and gathering items from the floor before reaching for a hotel phone on the hallway wall near the elevators. Combs, still in a towel and socks, returns.
A mirror directly across from the security camera shows Combs shoving Ms Ventura. He is then seen hurling an object at her.
According to CNN, Combs later paid the InterContinental Century City $50,000 for the hallway security footage.

TikTok and its Chinese parent company ByteDance are suing the U.S. federal government to challenge a law that would force the sale of ByteDance’s stake or face a ban, saying that the law is unconstitutional.
The lawsuit filed on Tuesday may be setting up what could be a protracted legal fight over its future in the United States.
The popular social video company alleged the law, which President Joe Biden signed as part of a larger $95 billion foreign aid package, is so “obviously unconstitutional” that the sponsors of The Protecting Americans From Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act are trying to portray the law not as a ban, but as a regulation of TikTok’s ownership.

Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry has appointed an AI-generated digital persona, modeled after a local influencer, to provide consular updates to the media.
Named Victoriya Shi – after “victory” and the Ukrainian abbreviation of “AI” – the avatar is a digital clone of Rosali Nombre, a singer and social media personality, who agreed to have her likeness digitized “pro bono,” according to the ministry.
In what the authorities described as a historical first, Shi’s comments “will appear on the official pages of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, such as its website and social media, and will also be sent to journalists by the press service”

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration will move to reclassify marijuana as a less dangerous drug, The Associated Press has learned, a historic shift to generations of American drug policy that could have wide ripple-effects across the country.
The DEA’s proposal, which still must be reviewed by the White House Office of Management and Budget, would recognize the medical uses of cannabis and acknowledge it has less potential for abuse than some of the nation’s most dangerous drugs. However, it would not legalize marijuana outright for recreational use.
The agency’s move, confirmed by five people familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive regulatory review, clears the last significant regulatory hurdle before the agency’s biggest policy change in over 50 years can take effect.

Bodycam video shows a Georgia cop pulling a man over for speeding, then following the driver to his home and tasering him just to retrieve a ballpoint pen.
WSB-TV reports the incident happened in December 2023 when a Greenville police officer stopped 30-year-old Corriyon Bray for speeding.
The bodycam footage shows the officer handing Bray the traffic citation and a pen to sign. After Bray signs the ticket, he keeps the pen and drives off.
The officer is heard yelling after Bray to give him his pen back.
“That mother (expletive). He stole my (expletive) pen!” the officer shouted in the video obtained by WSB-TV.
The officer, alongside a Meriwether County sheriff’s deputy, followed Bray to his home and met Bray outside where the officer demanded the pen.
“Give me my pen, then you’re going to jail,” the officer tells Bray.
“I don’t have your pen,” Bray shouts back.
“Give it to me, or I’m going to Tase you,” the officer says on camera.
The officer unholsters his Taser and points it at Bray. Moments later, the officer Tasers Bray while a deputy forces him to the ground.
“I can’t feel my leg bro,” Bray said as the deputy pinned him down.
Bray was arrested and taken into custody. Police charged him with obstruction and theft by taking.
“If he had complied, none of this would have happened,” Greenville Police Chief Wayne Frazier said. “Our SOP says verbal, hands-on, less lethal, and lethal, and he followed protocol.”
When Frazier was asked whether the cop should have tasered Bray, Frazier said, “Well I can’t answer that because I wasn’t there.”
Bray told WSB-TV that his leg was broken in two places during the encounter and he’s still experiencing pain nearly five months after the night of that traffic stop.
“I think it was about trying to show authority. I think that’s what it was about,” Bray said. “It wasn’t right.”
