As human beings, we have a hard time with pain, often doing everything we can to avoid the discomfort of facing the ache inside us. The inner work of becoming more conscious of God and our own souls, includes locating exactly where it hurts and attending with kindness to these hurting parts. Our society often encourages us to go through this alone, but it’s important to find the right people to love and support you. It’s important to show up brave every time. Trust me, you got this.

As givers of life, we are loving mothers whose fierceness in protecting our children has no match. Our heart is the central part of humanity, where everything is birthed. So shouldn’t this precious vessel be protected?

Her heart is not a toy. It isn’t some game that you play with - when you are bored or lonely. Her heart is all encompassing. It fosters life. It nurtures souls. It heals the earth. Yet, she is asked to carry the weight of your burdens. The pain dumped on her. I’m sorry - but she deserves better. The heart deserves more..

So how can we spot a wolf in sheep’s clothing and how can we see through their deception to protect ourselves?

When you are use to chaos, peace can feel extremely boring and disturbing.

You can be attracted to what feels familiar to you, even if it creates the same pain over and over.

Many times our wounded self is doing the attracting. The wounded self represents the parts of us that do not feel complete. This is also known as the ego.

The ego constantly seeks things on the outside to find validation and completion. It believes once it gets more, it will be happy. But, it’s never happy. The ego gets highly activated in romantic relationships, because that is where most of us hold the most wounding.

Chaos becomes the theme of our relationships as we subconsciously play out programming to attract people who activate our wounds. It feels comforting and familiar.

However, we don’t have to stay low. We don’t always have to repeat these patterns. There is a way out….
