Acid Girl Report
Below are the attached reports I deed sometime in September with a follow-up in court and the case is still ongoing in court.
The below report started in one village in Kenema district-Eastern Region where a slightly above twenty years old young woman was allegedly acid by her ex-husband and the woman became blind in both eyes.
So, the Nyapui Radio team went to the Kenema Government Hospital, the woman's village Benduma Maima in Maleguhun Chiefdom Kenema District to unearth what happened, we also went to the Liberia border where the alleged perpetrators were arrested after being on the run.
The case is still at Magistrate Court here in Kenema.
Note: the interviews and reports were done in our main local language KRIO and a few in Mende which is the main language of the Kenema and Kailahun district in the East where the radio is located.
Below is the second report I deed in court in the month of march 30th/2023.
In this report happens in a small village called Torpobu Dama, Kenema district-Eastern Region where an accused Mustapha Steven, twenty five years old, have appeared for the second time in the magistrate court number two, before magistrate Gassion Lamin Marcathy, because police alleged that the accused with force sexually penetrated eight year old Victim and the victim have already testified in court, the principal witness number two was in court testifying on cross examination.
They matter is still ongoing at the magistrate court number two here in Kenema.
Note: this report is done in our main local language KRIO.
The final report is a Private Simon were two women, Tena Sarah Kallon and Suma Sannoh reported two accused persons at the magistrate court number one, before magistrate Abdul Carew, the first accused person is Mohamed Kamara an herbalist and the second accused Vandi Bockarie is the friend of the first accused.
Tena Sarah Kallon alleged that she pay huge sum of money to the first accused which is an herbalist in other to have plenty money as was agreed, because it didn’t work as agreed , Tena later Simon the accused in court, in other to get her money back.
and in the area of the second accused was allegedly that he was aware of all the money transfer between both parties.
It is the similar matter between the other women Suma Sannoh.
The charges were put to the first and second accused, the first accused was plead guilty of the offense.
The magistrate Abdul Carew sentenced the first accused that’s guilty of the offense to five years imprisonment at the male correctional center in Kenema here.
And the second accused have not yet pleaded guilty, The magistrate adjourns the matter to proceed with the second accused.
