Aliens: Fireteam Elite - three in space, not counting Aliens
When developing a game based on Aliens, its authors can go one of two possible ways: to make a tense horror in the style of the original Ridley Scott film, or a peppy action in the spirit of James Cameron's fast-paced sequel. The first path was chosen by Creative Assembly, which released the excellent and incredibly creepy Alien: Isolation, and the second by Gearbox Software, which made the failed Aliens: Colonial Marines. And so disappointing that even doubts crept in whether it was really possible to make a tolerable shooter about space marines destroying hundreds of Aliens. Unsurprisingly, the announcement of Aliens: Fireteam Elite, a new game on the subject, was coolly received by many players.
