Day 1 in Helen, Georgia. It is a German Town located in northeast Georgia. It’s know for its Bavarian Style buildings. There is so much to do in town and just outside of it. King Ludwig Biergarten, Hansel & Gretel Candy Kitchen, numerous gift shops, wineries, antique shops, Nora Mills, Betty’s Country Store (like stepping back in time) and Fred Famous Peanuts. Last ast but not least the love locks under the bridge.

Kim and I are taking roads less traveled this Spring. We spent 4 days at Watson Mill Bridge State Park outside of Atlanta in Comer, Georgia. What a beautiful park!

Watson Mill Bridge is the longest covered bridge in the state of Georgia spanning 229 feet across the South Fork River.

It was Built in 1885 with a town lattice truss system held firmly together with tree nails.

At one time, Georgia had more than 200 covered bridges.

It’s always nice to have some quiet time to yourself while living the RV life. We get our time by fishing from our kayaks since we can’t tow our bass boat behind the 5th wheel.

Our camp spot was right next to Sergeant Jasper Park in Hardeeville South Carolina. We launched the kayaks right at the campground and spent the day fishing the lakes.

Kim caught a couple nice bass! I didn’t have as much luck .. my big one got away 🤷‍♀️. The day ended with a rain shower and a beautiful rainbow!

FYI for all you RVers, Sergeant Jasper Park also serves as the perfect cure for white line fever or just to take a break from your road trip to stretch your legs or have a picnic lunch. The hiking trails are a nice change of scenery. It definitely will do wonders for your psyche.

And just like that our 6 months in Florida is over! Hello Georgia!

No matter where she is my niece has to go to Ripley’s Believe it or Not. St. Augustine, Florida is the original Ripley's Believe it or Not, opening in 1950. Definitely a fun place to take kids.

The Cape Hatteras Light Station is located near Cape Hatteras, NC. Construction of a lighthouse at Cape Hatteras was first authorized in 1794 when Congress recognized the danger posed to Atlantic shipping. In 1999, the Cape Hatteras Light Station, which consists of seven historic structures, was successfully relocated 2,900 feet from the spot on which it had stood since 1870. Because of the threat of shoreline erosion the entire light station was safely moved to a new site. Pilot Mountain rising more than 1,400 feet above the upper Piedmont plateau. Located in Pinnacle North Carolina. Dedicated as a National Natural Landmark in 1976, this peak is the centerpiece of Pilot Mountain State Park. To the native Saura Indians Pilot Mountain was known as Jomeokee, the "Great Guide" or "Pilot." It guided both Native Americans and early European hunters along a north-south path through the area. What a place of beauty. The hiking and climbing trails give the most incredible views of this area.

Salt Springs in Ocala National Forest in Florida is a shallow beautiful spring. The water is fresh from the Florida Aquifer, although it has a salt taste, it is not sea water. This spring is extremely popular, especially on the weekends. on't forget your tubes and snorkeling geat there are places deeper in the spring where you can swim down with the fish and crabs.
