HOW TO FIND YOUR 'TINGLE' TRIGGER
"It’s not as weird as you think.
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response, and is a feeling experienced all over or in specific areas of a person’s body. You might better know it as the 'tingles' – those goosebumps you feel when a sound strikes just the right chord inside the brain that triggers a response. This can be experienced by audio or visual stimulation. ASMR is experienced differently by everyone."
In our April 2024 Health and Wellness Issue, special contributor, Karuna Satori of Johnstown, introduces us to the world of ASMR.
"ASMR has saved my life. It’s helped me through bouts of sickness, episodes of depression, and has been an incredible aid to my thirteen years in recovery. ASMR becomes easily misunderstood and susceptible to stereotypes because it boils down to being experienced by visual and audio stimulation alone. ASMR has helped my chronic pain, it has successfully aided in helping my CPTSD, and continuously contributes to my recovery in addiction. ASMR can aid you in an incredibly new and fun way to better your sleep, your pain, and perhaps even your person!"
Read all about it in our April edition. And maybe even read the story out loud to someone else. Who knows? Your voice and this story just might inspire someone else's health journey!
