I'm dropping in to ask for some much-needed help. Story below.
In October of 2022 my brother Mark Lane was diagnosed with a lung disease and suddenly became unable to care for our mother who is bed-ridden with multiple sclerosis. Mark was not only her caregiver but also helped bridge the gap financially so Mom could pay her bills. Even this past year as he has been battling his lung disease, he has been helping mom pay her bills because he's been blessed to still be able to keep up with some of his free-lance reporting jobs and podcast.
However, in mid-December Mark went into the ICU and onto life support. He has been unable to keep up with his own bills, let alone mom's. Our older brother, Mickey, and his wife stepped in October 2022 to take care of Mom but that meant moving 8 hours away from their established lives and job. It has been difficult to find steady jobs in a new area not knowing what the future was going to hold with Mark, plus having one of them needing be home for Mom most of the day. And currently she has no aids to assist during the day because she was hospitalized, and Arkansas makes you go through the application process all over again once this happens and it can take up to 60 days for approval. So, it's really put a wrench in availability for work.
On top of this, Mom's home has recently needed some costly repairs. And she was in the hospital which meant many costly gas trips to check on her. We as a family have been pooling our resources together the best we can the past year and this past month to help both Mom and Mark. However, the strain has become too much. After calculating the cost of very basic bills my family would like to raise $5,350 to cover the next 90 days worth of expenses for Mom in a way that Mark doesn't have to help at all even if he is able to report again. Anything beyond that would be such a blessing in this time of need.
Mark remains on a ventilator with the trach, but he has been IMPROVING. So, we absolutely praise God for that healing, and we thank our many friends and family for their faithful and continued prayers. Thank you for considering to help our family financially. It is extremely difficult to be this vulnerable and ask for help.
Bless you!
