This is a remix of Chromeo and La Roux's song "Replacements". I made and submitted it to their remix competition in June 2023.
Apart from using elements of the original song material, which Chromeo made available for download on their Soundcloud account, I did everything myself, from playing synths, electric guitars, and bass to mixing and mastering. 🎹🎸🎛️
For my fellow music nerds, I decided to include the remix instrumental. 🤓👍
If you haven't listened to the original song I strongly encourage you to do it along with Chromeo's and La Roux's other works. Rock on! 🤘😎

After finishing a new release I spent a little part of my weekend in the Museum für Angewandte Kunst in Cologne. If you’re interested in design from the 20th century I strongly recommend it. 😎👍

Berlin Charlottenburg 🙌: This district was my my first home after moving here over 20 years ago. This is where I started exploring the city and programming my first beats. I had a small apartment which cost me 280,- € including heating at that time and a super nice and funny pensioner couple next door who told me not to get married before the age of 60 because it worked perfectly for them. 😄 I bought used records in the shops around the corner for 2,- € and Prenzlauer Berg was a place with a lot of parties. Hard to believe nowadays… 😂
A lot of things have changed since then but it’s still nice to go back to that area and have a 🍕 every now and then. 😎👍❤️❤️❤️

Finally here’s the title track of my new three song mini-EP/single “Da Grind” (Link in Bio).
It contains little sound bites taken from an interview with one of my favorite rap artists Masta Ace. As some of you may know he also released a song with the same title in 2004. Although my song doesn’t have anything to do with HipHop soundwise the vocal samples and the title are a little tribute to this rap legend that had a rather big musical influence on me back in those days. 🧨🚨🎶
Other than that I just tried to create a piece of electronic music with some nice effects, synth sounds and a lot of energy. 💪😉

This song is called „Crammed“. It is track Nr.2 on my new three song mini-EP/single “Da Grind” (Link in Bio).
Since „Berlin Engineering“, the first Alloinyx Album back in 2012, I couldn’t care less about genres and categories for my songs. I make all kinds of music depending on how I feel at a certain moment in time. 🤷‍♂️😉
Sometimes it’s a Techno track, sometimes it may sound like a Breakdance beat and sometimes it sounds like “Crammed”: Like a mix of Hip-Hop and late 70s Rock with live electric bass, guitars and Autotune vocals or however you want to describe all of that. 🤪😄
Since I usually write, play, record and mix everything myself a song like “Crammed” takes a long time until it’s done. But songs with “real” instruments and vocals like this one are also a looot of fun to produce. Love it! 🤗💣❤️

Today I released my new three song mini-EP/single “Da Grind” (Link in Bio).
I’m going to post and talk about all three songs here and today I want to start with the last one which is called “The Veteran”.
This song is a dark techno stomper with a lot of weird sound effect stuff going on. The vocal samples are little sound bites taken from an old interview with a young Vietnam veteran. As you’ll surely notice I tried to create a rather threatening atmosphere that surrounds his words. This one’s probably not gonna become this year’s summer hit but I hope some of you will dig it nevertheless… 😉🤘💣
