The Cinderella story is usually used in basketball 🏀 every year during tournament time. Being the step child who always gets hand me downs, fights for scraps to survive and always gets scolded is how Corrections officers feel across the nation especially in Indiana.

Mitch the Bitch Daniels steamrolled State corrections officers when he took office immediately, as well as making Indiana a right to work state. He and his wife probably still make a fortune from Aramark and Penn products.

Safety and security is and always has been the number 1 rule in corrections. Yet funds are minimal. Pay is below average, su***de rates among officers continue to rise, divorce rates are still at the top of the list and the only ones that care are the ones serving those facilities day in and day out. Politicians and elected officials find other places to spend the money. In some instances, some of the funds generated by the facilities are used for other departments or support staff.

I’m not asking why this is happening, it’s clearly a numbers game. Corrections HAS TO employ a larger number of people based on the inmate population. This was done to alleviate lawsuits by officers during overcrowding facilities with dangerously low officer to inmate ratios, especially when officer injuries or deaths occur.

When you ask a corrections officer about this, the same statement comes about “Corrections has ALWAYS been like this”
It’s like this and continues to be, especially in Indiana because officers are afraid of backlash for speaking out. Officers watch as other departments get new buildings, police officers get brand new vehicles every 100k miles or so. Baseball leg guards (the kind catchers use) were equipment used by special teams (equivalent to swat) however your p*e wee league equipment was probably in better shape than most state correctional facilities equipment.
Radios, which in some cases, is the sole lifeline and tool afforded to correctional officers are hand me downs from the Barney and Fife era. Basically, you hear some things but not others. (Not very safe and secure).

Corrections always has a separate benefit and pay package than police officers and most other state and county employees. Not that it’s better because it’s usually not. Police officers always have a FOP or Union backing them. Retirement packages are worthless. Men and women working well past retirement age just to add a few more Pennies to their checks.

When is enough, enough? Usually only when an officer dies or gets seriously hurt on the job does policies change and heads turn.

Average new vehicle is $47k, average used vehicle is 27k. Most people at the jail didn’t even gross $47k.
Would you risk life and limb everyday for these wages? 🧐.

Everything has gone up the past few years including work load and revenue. 😉. I sure hope conversations are being had and liveable wages are being discussed. 🍺

In a world with rising prices for everything, only convicted felons in American Prisons can get room and board, health care, a high school diploma, a college degree, 3 meals a day and ELITE VIP for Concerts etc while incarcerated FOR FREE (TAX PAYERS MONEY). All while illegally making more money inside prison as most (if not all) the officers working there.

How bout we make budget cuts on that instead of those protecting and serving?

ITS January and it’s time to put the pressure on the Delaware County Council. The numbers don’t lie. We heard a rumor (hasn’t been confirmed by us yet) regarding the amount of money made by housing the out of county inmates during the last few months of 2023.

That doesn’t include the amount of money made for the Federal inmates (which the numbers for these individuals have increased dramatically). Remember county council members, that money was made off the hard work and overtime of the JAIL DIVISION. PAY THEM. That is all! End of post but the beginning of the Discussion….

The last time a presidential candidate was omitted from a states ballot was when Abraham Lincoln ran for president. That was 1860 and all the states who were against him were Slave states.

This clause Colorado is using to omit Trump is very clear and concise yet per usual Democrats make their own rules. The media and everyone who hates him except a COURT with a Judge casting judgement have convicted him of a crime.

To think Democrats have no sufficient candidate to beat Trump, who has yet to be at a debate this go around and STILL LEADS in polls thus far is hilarious!!

Remember, PUTIN, XI and the rest of the world 🌍 didn’t get out line until Biden took over. They all know the democrats and some of you uninformed voters are to worried about Condemning trump to care we are being fooled and the real illegal stuff is being done by those in the White House now.
