Flex ko lang mga kapatid, Another Milestone achieved tayo :D First time ever reaching this depth 🤩 Unang tanong agad sakin ni Boss AllanPogi of Lawom freedivers e Kamusta ang pakiramdam sa 50m? 🤔 Onga no? What happens nga ba sa deep dives? -10, 20, 30, 40m and so on...???
A lot of things happen sa ilalim ng tubig, Pero for today's topic, let's talk about Pressure, Gas and Lung volume. Let's Talk about Boyle's Law.
Kala nyo puro dive at equalize lang no? bat may pa Law Law. HAHAHA, kala ko din e 😅 So sabi sa Boyle's Law, ‘At a fixed temperature, the volume of a gas is inversely proportional to the pressure exerted by the gas.’ Kabaligtaran daw. Pressure ⬆️, Gas Volume ⬇️. Pressure ⬇️, Gas volume ⬆️. Most part ng body natin is non-compressible because we are made up of about 60-70% water and those parts are not affected by ambient pressure. However, Gas is compressible. Eto yung largely affected by pressure. Ano ano ba yung Gas spaces natin sa Katawan? We have the Middle ears, Sinuses, Mask space (unless we ditch the mask/ noseclip dives), and Our lungs. Among these parts, lungs lang ang hindi kailangan ma equalize when diving deep (This is a different topic for another day ;) ).
Ambient Pressure is measured by BARS. We have 1 bar of pressure sa Surface and it adds up every 10m or 33ft. The Gas and lung volume deceases depending on the depth and its size is determined according to the ambient pressure. Basta yon, tanong nyo nalang sa instructor nyo HAHAHA, or Punta kayo sakin dito sa Balai Lawom, Usap tayo for free about science of freediving :D tapos libre nyo ako wings 😋 hahaha.
So sa -50m, we already have 6 bars of ambient pressure, our gas volume is only 1/6, and our lung volume is around 1L nalang from 6L average size.
There are so many stuff to learn pa about Boyle's law and Freediving that will contribute alot sa mga dive natin once we understand it. Nandyan ang Surface intervals, Equalization, FRC or RV dives and more!
So pano? ang haba na. HAHAHA, Hanggang sa Muli! O alam mo na ha?
Iba na ang may alam!
