All good things must come to an end.

We have made the decision to end operations until further notice.

4 years ago I started this company with the dream of leveling the playing field for new artists locally trying to brake into the scene. Offering business support, investing into artists, and giving them a platform to launch from. We dident care about likes, or optics, just good music, good parties, and advancing our art.

Then covid happend.

We tried to bounce back, I tried to make It work, but after repeat closure of venues, and a few huge financial hits due to contract violations and being taken advantage of, I had to make a decision. The scene has also massively shifted from our original focus of good music, to how many tik tok followers you have, and I'm not for that.

Website will stay up along with released music, we will be keeping the legal structure in order to preserve copyright for our artists, but are no longer actively releasing, and all operations for shows are ceasing.

I want to thank everyone who supported me, my vision and RW through the entire ride. Iv met some of the most amazing people who I now consider family. Rubbed shoulders with some of the best artists in the world and had some of the best years of my life doing this. But I'm done. When finances are more stable, we may try again.

All I'm hoping is this vision carries on and some of you finish what I tried to start.

First off, I want to personally thank each and every person who has attended our Vancouver Open Deck, and the overwhelming amount of support that the project got. It was incredible to see the Vancouver community unite over our common goal of open access, mentorship, and showcasing local art. We met and discovered some pretty amazing artists, who have moved on to doing bigger and better things in this city, I could not be more proud of all of you for taking that first step, believing in yourselves, and doing it....

After 1 year of operation, Record Workz Radio is going to be making a big change.

Our radio station has always been community-based, but run and managed by its parent company Record Workz Studios This has prevented us from gaining grant funding, as RWS is a for-profit business. It made sense at the beginning, but not anymore.

After some careful consideration and community consultation, our board has made the decision to break off Record Workz Radio and incorporate it separately as a Non-profit society, fulfilling the definitions set out by the CRTC of an actual community radio station run by the community.

This opens us up to government funding and grants through SOCAN, the CRFC, and others. It allows us to do much more and support our Vancouver electronic music community even more. This will allow us to invest 100 percent back into the station to help it grow even further.

This will ensure our radio station can continue operating, and our Open Deck event can expand to become more than just an open deck.

We will be posting more about this over the next couple weeks as we get stuff filed, and formally prepared.
