PFC IAN O PAQUIT, A Philippine Army Soldier who was assigned as an automatic rifleman in the 3rd Scout Ranger Company of the First Scout Ranger Regiment, which was deployed to fight the Rogue Moro National Liberation Front faction during the 2013 Zamboanga City crisis.

On 24 September 2013, Paquit died from wounds sustained while providing suppressive fire to enable his fellow soldiers to relocate after his unit came under heavy enemy fire that degraded the available cover.

Paquit, at 21 years of age, is the youngest recipient of the Medal of Valor, The highest Military Award for courageous act.

2 Units of Attack Helicopters coming this December🇵🇭

The first batch of the six Turkish-made T129 ATAK attack helicopters will arrive in the Philippines in December.

The Philippine Airforce (PAF) 15th Strike Wing have sent pilot and crew to turkey to trained and operate soon the T129 ATAK and this is the actual 2 unit T129 ATAK helicopters.

As reported by the Philippine Public News Agency, the six T129 attack helicopters were procured for a total contract price of U$S 269,388,862 (about P12.9 billion) from Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) through a government-to-government type agreement under Republic Act 9184 or the Government Procurement Reform Act.

The T129 is a twin-engine, tandem-seat, multi-role, all-weather attack helicopter based on the Agusta A129 Mangusta platform and further developed in Turkey, which is designed for advanced attack and reconnaissance missions in hot, high environments and adverse geographical conditions, both day and night.

Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana signed the contract for the procurement of the Turkish attack helicopters in July last year.

The PAF is looking to acquire specialized but affordable attack helicopters to reinforce its fleet of armed helicopters, such as the MG-520 and AW-109E, which are used for counter-terrorism missions and support to ground units.

Isa si Tinangag sa mga nanguna para iligtas ang ilang sugatang sundalo sa kill zone sa Marawi. Sa kasamaang palad, nasawi si Tinangag matapos siyang paulanan ng bala habang inililigtas si First Lt. John Frederick S. Savellano.

To pursue the NPA murderers of the Absalons in Masbate City, this command thru the 9th Inf Div PA together with the PNP launched operations in Masbate. Today 08 June 2021 at 5:30 am, joint elements of Scout Platoon 91D and PNP while conducting Law Enforcement/ pursuit operations at vic brgy Anas, Masbate City, encountered 30 NPA terrorists under Arnold Rosero . Firefight lasted for 15 minutes then the NPA elements scampered to different directions.

Initial Result: 3 enemy killed (Body Count), captured 3-M16 rifles, 1-M14 rifle.

Pursuit of remaining NPA criminals continued.

Galit na galit ang mga sibilyan kaya tinuro nila kung saan nagtago ang mga NPA. Dahil dito natagpuan ng mga sundalo at pulis ang mga baril na tinago ng mga NPA sa isang kubo.

12 M16 rifles were captured by the troops, including their backpacks and subversive docs.

We will not stop until these criminals are made to pay for their atrocities.

This recent West Point graduate is Alex Idrache. He grew up in a slum in Haiti, and he tells the story of how U.S. soldiers were deployed to his neighborhood following the earthquake there several years ago. He says their presence was the first experience of "hope" he recalls in his childhood.

He remembers looking at his dad and asking him who the people were that were helping. His dad looked at him and said, "They are American soldiers." He looked back at his father and said, "One day, I will be an American soldier." His father knew the situation in Haiti was unworkable and tried for several years to obtain a visa to come to the United States. After being denied for several years, he was finally granted a spot in Baltimore. He purchased a ticket on a boat for his family and left Haiti. They arrived and Alex, remembering his dream in the slum several years prior, looked for a way to join the U.S. Army. He found a national guard program that allowed him to join the Army in exchange for citizenship. He didn't hesitate.

After a series of fortunate occurrences, he was given one of the few spots at West Point for prior enlisted soldiers. Despite his severe lack of formal education, he graduated as an honor graduate (top 5% physically and academically) and the top student in the Physics Department. This picture was taken just prior to tossing his hat in the air, the realization of a dream that began 10 years ago in a slum in Port-au-Prince.🔥
