4 months since we decided to live in Alaska for the winter! 🤯
Here’s a little update— winter in Alaska has been AMAZING until everything turned to ice 😫
Not pictured: it pouring rain this weekend & hurricane level wind gusts 💨
We never thought we’d be wishing for more snow!
Wait til the end to see what’s bringing us a lot of joy lately 🐾☺️
What are your fav winter activities to do when there isn’t snow!? Helpppp 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
2024 highlights:
— Skydiving in Moab
— Suprising Chad for his 30th with his best friends
— hiking Root Glacier & jumping in the glacier blue sparkly pool
— Chads Mom & Grandma visiting Alaska
— Eileen’s parents visiting in Alaska
— Deciding to stay in Alaska for the winter 🥹
Lowlights of 2024:
— a porcupine eating all our major wires in the van causing us to be without it for waaay over a month 😳
Here’s to a new year!
5 hours of daylight & we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Alaska is showing us that winter can be more than a season to get through—
it can be a teacher, a time for introspection, and an adventure all its own. ✨
ONE MONTH OF CABIN LIFE IN ALASKA! 🤯
Just a little recap ✨
Grateful for sunny days, making lots of new things like cinnamon brown sugar sourdough, cinnamon rolls & enjoying playing outside!
Chad is working on fixing the heater… still not fully there yet and we want it to be fixed so we can go sleep in the van / explore! It’s in the low 30s at night so we need the heater.
We have been meaning to cut a hold to get to the access point for the spare tire 🛞
Things are going great 🥹😊
Questions about Alaska?? Drop them below 👇🏻
a lil recap of the last week or so 😊
We were so so happy to get the van back last Monday & it was wild to see Denali all boarded up for the winter.
Our new fav podcast @nationalparkafterdark got us through the 11 hours of driving.
We enjoyed hiking Crows Pass & highly highly recommend it as a tool to regulate your dogs nervous system after a big scare 🥲
Chad surprised me with a night at the @anordicspa that was gloriousssssss — 4 hours of sauna, hot tubs, cold plunges & relaxation pools tucked away in the woods/mountains. It was dreamyyyyy.
We enjoyed doing some fall activities — pumpkins & pretzels yes pleaseeee 🎃🥨
We made a bucket list of things we want to do this winter in Alaska. Have any suggestions?? 👇🏻👇🏻
When the sun comes out in Alaska it’s a big deal.
We are figuring it out as we go & trying to embrace the transition into cabin life.
The fall colors here are gorgeous!
We’ll save our clothing situation for another day. We still haven’t got our van back… it’s been 5+ weeks y’all. 😅
Hopefully it’ll be fixed soon & we can get all our tools back.
Who thinks my plants are still alive in the van?? 🫣😭
Wait until you see our neighbor at the end — he came back to say hi 🥹

Pizza dinner on the go & fall colors tour in Alaska?
Yes please.
Fall is HERE & it’s beautiful 🍂✨
Guess who was the happiest? 😂😍
When you successfully surprise your husband with an epic birthday celebration with all his favorite people at his favorite place in Utah.
We had a blast hiking in Zion, Bryce Canyon, and we went on the most epic ATV adventure!
We loved having @oflandhotels to come back to. 🙌
The gorgeous outdoor showers are incredible, we loved relaxing in the hot tubs, enjoying the delicious food, sitting by the fires in the community area, making new friends and how pet friendly it is!
This is your sign to book your stay at @oflandhotels — maybe even celebrate a birthday!

Guess how many minutes we lasted ⤵️
Here’s the thing: we are not anywhere epic right now.
And it’s enough.
We are enjoying a slow simple Saturday 😌🫶🏻
My brother sent me this song — he made it up on our moms dulcimer !!! @
Happy weekend—
Are you relaxing today or playing?
