FROM BVAS TRAINING TO STRATEGIC ENDORSEMENTS AND ALLIANCE

Strategic endorsements are indications of victory especially if they are coming from formidable fronts. This time, it is coming from a formidable political group in Ogbia, "The Otuokpoti Third Force".

Rising from a 3-Day training on the use of the BVAS and the complexities in its use, the Otuokpoti Third Force carried out a sensitization programme and use the occasion to strengthen alliances with other strong groups in the community to vote for the following in the forthcoming elections:

SEN. DEGI-EREMIENYO BIOBARAKUMA
THE IDEALISM BEHIND THE
PRAGMATISM - EPISODE 2.

Senator Degi-Eremienyo Biobarakuma was described in Episode 1, as a Fourth Dimensional Thinker, whose dream is to match his idealism with definitive concrete action. Fourth Dimensional Thinkers in political circles are hybrid humans that lead other humans. They lead, not because they are environmentally conditioned to lead, but because they are genetically configured for leadership.

Fourth Dimension Politicians are created for the future. They appreciate the past (good or bad), reconcile it with the present and use them as a basis for constructing the future. They do not act on volitional impulses nor respond subconsciously to basic instincts. They solve problems at root causes. They are innovative and create new paradigms. They consciously design and scale their maps of what is best for the society. They are neither egocentric nor ethnocentric but adopt system-centric approaches to societal issues. They strive for universalism in their thoughts and action and are not mental bench warmers.

In a recent conversation with Senator Degi he said: “I am not an accidental politician. I am a product of the grassroot and I understand the dynamics of effective representation. On my assumption of Office as a Senator, I had a clear vision of what I wanted for my people. It was to enhance the living conditions of the people through provision of light, water, concrete roads and recreational/tourist activities. I strive to enhance the capacity of the youths through providing a template and structures for commercial and industrial expansion. These are reflected in the Motions we raised on the Floor of the Senate, the Bills we Sponsored and the Projects we try to execute. The fundamental objective is to expand the socio-economic space”.

The question is, what pragmatic steps have been taken to realize these aspirations? For the sake of clarity, we have decided to break them into the Motion Raised and Bills Passed; including the projects that have been attracted and executed: First, we shall start with the Motions Raised and the Bills Passed:

MOTIONS

1. Motion on the Need to Establish the Akassa Slave Trade Museum as one of the Nation’s Heritage Sites.

2. Motion for the Establishment of Cottage Industries across the 774 LGA’S in Nigeria.

3. Motion urging the Federal Government of Nigeria to Classify Yenegwe-Okaki-Kolo-Nembe-Brass Road as a Priority Project and to be Completed before the end of 2023.

4. Motion urging the Federal Government of Nigeria for the Immediate Revival of Brass LNG Project in Brass Island, Brass LGA of Bayelsa State.

5. Motion for the Establishment of Oil and Gas Research Center and a Museum in Oloibiri/Otabagi, in Ogbia LGA of Bayelsa State

BILLS

1. Bill for an Act for the Establishment of National Institute of Information and Communication Technology, 0gbolomabiri, Bayelsa State

2. Bill for an Act for the establishment of Federal College of Education Bassambiri, in Nembe LGA of Bayelsa State

3. Bill for an Act for the Establishment of Oil and Gas Research Center and a Museum in Oloibiri/Otabagi, in Ogbia LGA of Bayelsa State.

4. Bill for an Act to amend the Compulsory, Free Universal Basic Education Act Cap c52, Laws of the Federation 2010, to Extend the Application of the Act to all Children of Senior Secondary School Age.

5. Bill for an Act for the Establishment of National Mangrove Management Commission: for the Protection, Restoration and Regulation of activities in the Mangrove Ecosystem of the Nigerian Coastlines; the Study and Practice of Properly Developing, Utilizing, Managing and Conserving Portions of Mangrove Settlements consistent with the Principles of Sustainable Development within the Coastal Areas, and other Allied Matters, 2020.

6. Bill for an Act to establish National Agricultural Extension Services Centre Otuegwe 1, Ogbia LGA Bayelsa State.

7. Bill for the Amendment of National Primary Health Development Agency Act 2004.

It is important to state that human actions are depictions of their thoughts which is propelled by their ideas. The aforesaid Motions and Bills clearly explain in practical terms, the dream of Senator Degi for his people. If a 1st Term Senator can achieve these within a short space of time, you can guess the quality of Bills and Motions he will raise, the support he will get as a High Ranking Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the concomitant development that will come with it.

This Episode represents a rallying call for the people of the District to vote wisely by voting for Distinguished Sen. Degi-Eremienyo Biobarakuma as Senator for Bayelsa East Senatorial District.

Our next Episode shall cover the idealism and pragmatism of the his Projects.

SEN. BIOBARAKUMO DEGI-EREMIOYO
THE IDEALISM BEHIND THE
PRAGMATISM

EPISODE 1.

Senator Biobarakumo Degi-Eremioyo is a Development Metaphor. He is an Idealist. He is an Existentialist. He is a Pragmatist and most essentially, he is a 4th Dimensional Thinker. This is the man seeking for the votes of his dear people to represent the people of Bayelsa East Senatorial District as Senator.

We have deliberately refused to include his pervasive stature as a consumate politician with goliathan accomplishments, not because it is not relevant, but because such relevance is presumed idealized and cannot stand on a’priori pillars of commendation without considering the dynamic constructs that allow for such inclusion.

Plato’s preferred thesis of the political system is that political offices should be reserved for the most curious, pragmatic, visionary, bold, ethical, benevolent, just, kind, and altruistic in a society. For Plato and other scholars of the Platonic tradition, politics is too important to be left in the hands of politicians with a “one way traffic form of thinking.” They contend that politics determine the existence of a society and should not be left for those without vision and action plan. What this implies is that the electorate should avoid and resist mundane, commonplace politicians whose only philosophy is “You vote for me and I give you money”. After that, “To your Tents, O Isreal”.

The question we shall be asking going further is “What is Senator Degi’s Idealism and what are the pragmatism that match his idealism?

In a recent conversation with Senator Biobarakumo Degi-Eremioyo, we asked him about the idealism that inderpins his entry into the political contest. This is what he said: “My idealism are subsumed under my dream and vision for the people. My vision for Bayelsa East is a Good Environment for the people to live. I dream of an environment that can stimulate the youths to acquire relevant skills for self development. I dream of an environment with strong intellectual capacity to enable them fit into the best industries and institutions. I dream and work tirelessly for the establishment of commercial and industrial concerns to employ the people of the District. I dream of a Bayelsa East where the people of Brass, Ogbia and Nembe will be proud of being part of a developed society.

At Fourth Dimension Media, we strive towards objectivity in our content development and media branding. In our Episode 2, we shall commence with Senator Degi’s Pragmaticism. We shall unearth his action plan and the concrete steps he has taken to implement the plan. His projections for the future of the District shall also form part of our future episodes.

A vote for Sen. Degi is a vote for right action.

VOX POPULI ….….. VOX DEI

RESOLUTIONS OF THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEETING OF OTUOKPOTI THIRD FORCE HELD ON THE 15TH OF JANUARY, 2023 AT OTUOKPOTI, HEADQUATERS OF OGBIA WARD 2

At an Executive Council meeting of Otuokpoti Third Force, the largest and most dominant political organization in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, the following commendations and resolutions were made and reached:

COMMENDATIONS
1. Council observed that President Muhammadu Buhari through the instrumentality of the Leader of APC in Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva, Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and the Senator representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District, Senator Biobarakuma Degi, has attracted landmark development projects to Bayelsa State to expand the industrial and commercial frontiers of the state economy.
2. These include the Brass Fertilizer Project at Odioma, the LNG Project at Twon Brass, the 10 Megawatts Gas-Fired Independent Plant at Elebele, the Rungas LPG Composite Cylinder Manufacturing Plant at Polaku, the Industrial Park at Emeyal Ogbia, the Oloibiri Oil and Gas Museum, the 45,000 Litre Per Day L**e Oil blending plant at Gbaraun, the Dry Dock Shipyard in Brass, the Coastal Heavy Product Depot and the Local Content Towers to attract multinational oil companies into the state and expand the economic frontiers of Bayelsa State.
3. Council further appreciates President Mohammadu Buhari, the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, His Excellency, Chief Timipre Sylva, and Senator Biobarakumo Degi Eremioyo for the key roles they played in the appointment of Chief Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, as Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). We are convinced of the capacity of new Managing Director, Chief Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, to right the historic wrongs and bloody resistance that led to the creation of the NDDC and provide a template for the sustainable development of the Niger Delta.
4. Council has carried out a thorough appraisal of the candidates of all the political parties in Bayelsa State for the forthcoming General Elections and observes that for the first time in the history of politics in Bayelsa State, Bayelsa State APC took their time to pick the most competent and suitable persons for the position of Senate, House of Representatives and Houses of Assembly in Bayelsa East Senatorial District.

RESOLUTIONS

Council therefore resolves as follows:

1. Politics is a game of compromise and barter. It is system of give and take, or put in mundane terms, an interplay of “you scratch my back, I scratch your back”. What the APC has given to Ogbia and the entire Bayelsa East can never be given by the PDP is spite of their elongated and suffocating stay in power over the years. The people of Bayelsa East can only reciprocate the kind gesture of APC by calling on our Ogbia brothers and sisters to get their PVC’s, protect their PVC’s and use it effectively to vote massively for APC because it is the only Party that understands the peculiar problems we are facing and have taken concrete steps to right the wrongs of yester years.

2. We call on all Ogbia people to vote for Alhaji Bola Tinubu for President, Sen. Biobarakumo Degi Eremioyo for Senate, Bayelsa East Senatorial District, Barr. Edi Orubo for Ogbia House of Representatives and Hon. Godknows Obein Owerre for House of Assembly, Ogbia Constituency 2.

3. In line with progressive thinking, Otuokpoti Third Force shall take advantage of its numerical strength, being the largest community in Ogbia, to mobilize the resources at its disposal and ensure that the right thing is done by voting for all APC Candidates in the forthcoming General Elections.

God bless Bayelsa State.

HON. GODKNOWS OBEIN OWERRE CONSULTATION TOUR

DAY 1 ANYAMA OGBIA
It was scheduled to be a consultation visit to selected stakeholders to the community. It however turned out to be a carnival. The following were observed
1. The Candidate is blessed and ordained by God to rule.
2. This is the first time a Candidate will visit the community and everybody will forego their farming and fishing to receive him.
3. Owerre is a symbol of peace and he is going to win convincingly
4. Some of the candidates might come with violence having realised that they will lose woefully. The team should look up to God and avoid acts of provocation.
5. The seat of the House of Assembly is nobodys birthright. Owerre should commence the cycle of rotation.
6. The people of Anyama are the poorest in Ogbia and indeed Bayelsa as the active youths have been reduced to paupers, beggars and errand boys and girls.

Finally, the candidate was advised not to bother to come to Anyama for campaigns anymore. The decision to vote for Owerre has been signed, sealed and settled.

I have been a farmer, a fisherman and a transporter. As a growing up child, life was not easy for me. So I understand the real meaning of poverty. I understand when a family cannot afford two square meals. I understand when a child will drop out of the university because he cannot meet up with school demands. Through divine grace and providence, I was able to go into some form of business which has enabled me to reach out to many of my people in need. The government must be called to the rescue. The time to reduce the poverty gap is now.

Vote for me. Vote for APC to change the ugly narrative in Ogbia Constituency 2.

Hon. Godknows Obein OWERRE

APC CANDIDATE, OGBIA CONSITUENCY 2
