My passion is painting... I create custom hand painted wood signs. This page is for people interested in my work to follow and stay up to date with my latest projects.
How I started... I never considered myself an artist but I always had an interest in Art. I took some Art classes in High School. Pottery class was my favorite. I just loved shaping and painting the clay and just seeing what I created taking shape right before my eyes. I always wanted to get back into it but life simply got into the way.
I always loved the smell of fresh cut wood. I know weird, right? I guess it probably stems from my childhood. My Dad was always working in the basement on one project or another. I am forever a proud Daddy’s Girl and always tagged along with him when he went to the lumber yard. To this day that smell still reminds me of him. So, years later when I started looking for a hobby to get into it ,of course, was going to be something to do with wood. I researched and researched to learn all there was to learn about wood, the different kinds of wood, painting wood, and rehabbing furniture. Many things I wanted to do were way out of my league. I love all things primitive and country. Many home decor items are very neutral which is really not my style so I decided to start playing around painting wood signs. When I started I would bring my projects down to my Hubby to look at and to my surprise he loved them. I had a really hard time accepting that I was good at it and still kept asking over and over again what he thought. He finally said to me “Why can’t you accept that you are good at something? These are awesome and you should sell them.”
I have had many people purchase my paintings and asking where they can view my collection. So, here I am today with a FB page dedicated to my craft. My dream is to have a small business making and selling my paintings. I put my heart and soul into everything I make. I never really traveled but it would be so cool to have little pieces of my soul traveling around the Country. I don’t know where this all will lead but as long as I am still having fun and passionate about it I will continue to move forward to where ever this will take me.
