[CLASH OF GODS LESSON #5]
Battle
Battle serves as the primary source of gaining ATHEN through the use of your heroes and items NFTs. Fighting consists of the player selecting a team of heroes and an item, and selecting an enemy from a randomized set based on your calculated power. Play also can choose the appropriate battle formation to maximize their winrate and reward.
Battle Formation
In Clash of Gods, the player selects a team of three heroes to fight the enemy.
The elemental and class advantage is only calculated against the enemy with the corresponding position.
Formation Combo:
Elemental variety: A team consisting of three different elemental heroes gain a 7.5% PWR bonus.
Same elemental: A team consisting of all same elemental heroes gains a 10% PWR bonus.
Class variety: A team consisting of three different classes gains a 7.5% PWR bonus.
Same class: A team consisting of all same class heroes gain a 10% PWR bonus.
Battle Formula
Calculate Hero PWR
Base Hero PWR is calculated by adding Hero PWR, Item PWR and Formation bonus.
Total Hero PWR is calculated by adding Base Hero PWR with:
Hero and Enemy elemental advantage/disadvantage
Hero and Enemy class advantage/disadvantage
For example, a Fire-element, Mage Hero using a Fire-element Weapon battling an Air-element, Warrior enemy will have:
7.5 (Item matched) + 7.5 (advantage over enemy elemental) + 5 (advantage over enemy class) = 20% PWR boost. => The Total Hero PWR in this example will be Base Hero PWR x 120%.
Calculate Enemy PWR
Combat starts by determining the Base Hero PWR and using that to determine the range of enemies to choose from. Once the Base Hero PWR has been determined the game takes that value and applies a ±10% to determine the range of possible enemy power values.
The player then proceeds to choose an enemy to fight and confirms the transaction. The contract calculates the player's Total Hero PWR and uses this value to determine the player's combat roll , the experience and the reward ATHEN gained on victory.
The player's roll is calculated by applying a ±10% to Total Hero PWR value.
The enemy's roll is calculated by taking their listed power value and applying a ±10%.

[CLASH OF GODS LESSON #4]
Metaverse
Very old time ago, when the world was just nothing existed except Chaos. Then four elements were born: Air, Water, Earth, and Fire. All four elements gathered to make the world flourish, and life started to begin. Over time, cities and lands were explored from deep forests to seas, from volcanoes to cold regions.
In Clash of Gods, these lands and cities are drawn into maps. There are currently 3 maps and more will be expanded in the future when the Metaverse grows. Each map will have a unique theme and enemies, and include many different battles. Players participate in the battles and win the rewards.
The Central Realm
The most gigantic realm of mankind in the ancient world. This is where the Great Gods of Olympus rule and live. The largest and strongest city in the realm is Athens - the capital of Greece, protected by the strongest army on the earth: the Spartan. In its prime, Central Realm knows for its rich and peaceful, with a lot of strong kingdoms. Now, the land is devastated by demonic creatures like the Minotaurs, Hydra and Cerberus.
The Asgard Snowfield
Far in the North is the infinite snowfield that expands beyond the sky. With sky-piercing mountains and eerie glaciers, Asgard is a mysterious land and full of danger. Legend said there are Gods of Norse rule this land, but they have perished long before the Gods of Olympus comes. The land is full of barbarians and powerful ice creatures.
The Atlantic Sea
The famous Atlantic city is located at the very bottom of the Atlantic Sea. The city is known for its ancient knowledge and mystical magic and is the holy land of mermaids, naga and sea creatures. It also has a friendly dipclomacy with Central Realm, especially Athen City. Now, the great ocean is darkened with Chaos power, and many powerful creatures like Kraken and the Jörmungandr savage the sea.

[CLASH OF GODS LESSON #3]
Items
Items are one of the main NFTs the player can possess in Clash of Gods.
Unlike with hero, each player can hold an unlimited amount of items.
The price to mint weapons is displayed on the "Forge" button in the Items tab.
Each item comes with a random elemental and a random rarity denoted by the number of stars it possesses. The rarity of the weapon determines the amount of attributes it has and the values that these attributes may roll.
The usage of an item is not tied to a Hero, so one item may be used by all four of your heroes.
Item Durability
Items have durability, which serves to limit how often an item can be used to prevent people from simply passing one item around to multiple accounts.
Durability recovers at a rate equal to Hero stamina, so a single account can use a single item for fighting with four heroes.
Durability has no effect on win rate, or the effectiveness of any item when used in combat.
Item Elementals
The elemental of an item is randomly determined upon minting. Weapons share the same elements as characters (Fire, Earth, Lightning, Water).
The element of the item is used for calculating the player POWER roll for combat. An item that has the same elemental as Hero elementals increase PWR by 2.5%.
Rare elementals like Chaos and Divine can complement any elementals and always get a 2.5% PWR bonus.

Hero Classes & Elements

Unlike many other NFT games that only focused on the "earn" perspective, Clash of Gods also cares about the "gaming" experience of the player. The game has many RPG factors that contribute to gameplay depth and strategy. The Elements and Classes system allows players to freely build their favorite unique Hero with enormous options.
Hero Classes
There are three classes in the games: Berserker, Mage and Warrior.
Each class also have advantage/disadvantage against other classes:
Mage > Warrior > Ranger > Mage
Just like elementals, Hero with advantage class gains an additional 5% PWR against the enemy with countered class.
Each Hero has fixed classes, not randomized like elementals. For detailed information about each hero class, see:

Elements
Clash of Gods uses an element system in battle. There are four basic elements in the game: Fire, Water, Earth and Air. Heroes have their elements and can gain advantages when battling with the countered element. The Elements circle is:
Fire > Air > Earth > Water > Fire
A Hero with a Fire elemental will gain great advantages when facing an enemy with an Air elemental. And vice versa, that Hero will have disadvantages if facing an enemy with Water elemental.
Aside from four basic elementals, there are two rare elementals: Chaos and Divine. These two rare elementals have advantages over all basic elementals.
Chaos, Divine > Fire > Air > Earth > Water
Each hero will have an elemental given when summoning. Hero with advantage elemental gains an additional 7.5% PWR against the enemy with countered elementals. Vice versa, the enemy gains 7.5% PWR when fighting hero with countered elementals.

Clash of Gods currently runs almost entirely on the blockchain, as opposed to centralized games running on their own servers.
Having all gameplay done on-chain provides a level of trust not commonly found in traditional video games, and allows all users to verify the code that runs the game, as well as all interactions happening on the game's smart contracts.

Clash of Gods has a 99.99% uptime on their SLA with Cloudflare and ensures smooth production and deployment of any features pushed to the website, as well as the usability of the website for all players.
DDOS attacks can disrupt marketplace and leaderboard data, but being on the blockchain ensures that assets are always safe and the game is always playable.
On-chain vs Off-chain

Class: Mage

Hero POWER (PWR) and Rarity
POWER
POWER is the major attribute of each Hero in Clash of Gods. Each Hero comes with 1000 PWR at level 1 and increases as they level up. The PWR attribute of the Hero will be compared against the PWR of the enemy to determine the winner of each battle. The Hero with higher PWR will more likely to win more battles and gain a greater reward. PWR is increase each level and massively increases every 10 levels.
The detailed formula to calculate PWR can be found below:

Rarity
Each Hero comes as one of three different rarities (from 1 star to 3 stars).
Basically, Heroes with higher rarity will gradually become stronger because they gain additional POWER when level up and also has better traits.
Higher rarity heroes are harder to summon. The summon ratio and rarity bonus can be found below:

Below is an example PWR of Hero increase by levels and rarity:
