Feast of our Scottish Bard, Rabbie Burns today. We had to learn a lot of his poems by heart when we were little. This was always my favorite - To a Mouse and that last line is one that has always resonated with me and none more so than in this past Year of the Covid - "the best laid plans of mice and men gang aft aglae!" (translates - best laid plans of mice and men often go awry!!!"

Thanks to Zachary's mum in Australia for sending this creative drawing Zachary made after listening to The Tale of Two Bad Mice from Journey with Story. And what a wise mummy to observe - the mice were not really bad, but just disappointed (when they discovered the food in the doll's house was just pretend and not real ). We can all do some less than good things when we are disappointed, and it seems like a life long lesson we all struggle with - how to teach our little ones to deal with disappointment! LOVE to hear how our loyal listeners are linking literature to life!!!
