Today, I participated in the pivotal screening of Aspirants for the upcoming 2024 governorship election held at our party's National Secretariat, Abuja. This significant event marked a crucial step towards determining the Party's qualified Aspirants for the upcoming primary election.

I assured both the Screening Committee and National Working Committee (NWC) of our great party of my commitment to promoting the core values of the PDP. If given the opportunity, I will work tirelessly to secure victory for the party in the upcoming election.

I must commend the Screening Committee ably chaired by His Excellency, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the Governor of Plateau State, for diligently carrying out the thorough and meticulous exercise.

Light is life and every man deserves it, just like our fundamental human right — The Right to Life.

Talking about light, if given the opportunity to serve, the issue of epileptic power supply will be dealt with in our state — many businesses are grounded and many artisans are finding it difficult to cope due to the unfortunate poor power supply.

It is possible to have a constant power supply in our state and in our bid to grow and keep our economy booming, we will tackle this issue together.

I'm Philip Shaibu, and I'm ready for the job!

Having gathered enough experience and goal-driven connections across the board in both the private and public sectors, it's time for the people to feel practical governance.

We have preached enough theory, that "PRACTICAL" is what the people need now to actualize the EDO we all desire.

Philip Shaibu is that man to bring "PRACTICAL GOVERNANCE" to the people.

Executing carefully-thought ideas requires experience in the field to have it well executed.

Governance knowledge isn't a bought knowledge or only accrued by certificates, rather, over time practical experiences with an in-depth understanding of the terrain.

Nominate and Vote for Philip Shaibu.

*Etsako West Election Results* : Shaibu Calls for Calm as Constituents Protest lrregularities.
.. accuses INEC, security officials of comprising process

Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt Hon. Comrade Phillip Shaibu, has called for calm, even as he noted that the use of weapons and Armoured Personnel Carriers, APC for elections, negates the purpose of security in the electoral process in the country.

Shaibu spoke at a press briefing shortly after a peaceful protest in Jattu, Etsako West Local Government Area, Edo State, staged by the people, challenging the collation of results emanating from Etsako West Constituency 2, outside the official location designated by INEC.

The peaceful protest was neccessitated by the collation of election results of Etsako West Constituency 2 in Auchi.

According to the Deputy Governor, "election results for Constituency 2 over the years, were collated and announced in Azama Primary School,Jattu-Uzairue in Esako West Local Government Area.

“I think the use of weapons and armoured personnel carriers for election into House of Assembly such like in Etsako West, defeats the purpose of security in elections in our country".

"I think Nigerians are getting tired of this kind of process. They should not provoke us to the level that will make people to take to the street. I want to urge you all protesters, not to do anything that will affect the democratic process, but you're free to register your grievances peacefully through protest"

"You have the right to air your views. You have the right to protest, but please remember, our properties are our own. We should not destroy anything. We must not do something that will cause the breakdown of law and order. I don’t want any of you to die; we are waiting here. We are praying that they will come and collate and announce the results here".

"What they are trying to do is like having an election in Kaduna State and going to Kano to collate and announce results. That's sheer impunity", Shaibu added.

The House of Assembly candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Felix Iyalomhe, condemned the movement of results, collation and announcement to a different location in Auchi.

He noted that the collation of results outside Etsako West Constituency 2 was not constitutional and the PDP would not accept it.

“This is totally unacceptable. We will stand to defend our results as declared yesterday by the party agents".

“The election that took place yesterday and the results released by the various party agents in the five wards of Etsako West Constituency 2 revealed that, I,Dr. Felix Iyalomhe, won the election overwhelming".

"However, what we’re seeing now is that a former governor of the State, right now, is manipulating the results in favour of the APC candidate and this my people will not accept".

I, Felix, the candidate, will not accept this. They are doing the collation of results outside the constituency. Traditionally, Constituency 2 results are collated at Azama Primary School in Jattu-Uzairue, which is the collation centre for Constituency 2, Etsako West Local Government Area”.

PDP leader in Estako West, Engr Kenneth Asekhome, said the party would do everything possible to defend their votes and claim their mandate.

“This is totally unacceptable. We will stand to defend our mandate. Our mandate must be announced in Azama Primary School," Asekhome added.

*Over 50,000 persons benefit from Obaseki’s agricultural programmes*

*_… Dufil Prima Plc, Elephant Group , Asanita, lead private sector investment_*

No fewer than 50,000 persons, including farmers, logistics operators and food processors, farm managers, among others, have benefited from agricultural programmes implemented by the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, in the past three and a half years.

In a statement, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Communication Strategy, Mr. Crusoe Osagie, said the beneficiaries were involved in the cultivation of over 10,000 hectares of farmland across the state supporting farmers spread across different locations in the state, including Agenebode, Warrake, Usugbenu, Iguoriakhi, Illushi, Iguomo, Oria, Udo, Ekpoma, Ozalla, Ome-Ora, Agbede, Evbonogbon and Sobe in the state.

He said while some of the programmes are implemented in conjunction with the Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending Plc (NIRSAL), and the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Commercial Agricultural Credit Scheme (CACS), others are driven by private sector investors such as Elephant Group, Agrotek, Pemo Farms Limited, Dufil Prima and Asanita.

According to him, “Our agricultural programmes hinge on the huge potential of agriculture for wealth and job creation that could guarantee Edo people better life. Governor Obaseki has implemented well thought-out, strategic and far-reaching reforms that attract and retain investments in oil palm, cassava, maize, yam, rubber, cocoa, rice, vegetables, aquaculture and livestock production.”

He noted that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is investing a whopping N69 billion in the Edo State Oil Palm Programme (ESOPP), adding that the Edo State Agripreneur programme, which commenced in 2017, is part of the Governor Obaseki-led administration’s strategies to boost Micro, Small-scale and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and sustain current youth-focused agricultural initiatives in the state.

According to him, “Under the scheme, over 10,000 hectares of rice, maize, cassava, soybean, and other crops are being cultivated in Agenebode, Warrake, Usugbenu, Iguoriakhi and Sobe. There were over 55,000 young beneficiaries while nearly 20,000 jobs were created under the initiative. In addition, the Edo Food and Agriculture Cluster (Edo-FAC) in Ehor, Uhunmwode LGA has benefited over 1,300 farmers. There is also a farm mechanisation programme for commercial agriculture in the state.”
