A Pursuit of Joy Reflection ✨

Lately, I have been on journey with this mic. From Spoken Word Poet, to Pastor, to Host. In these last couple of years, I have been running from the mic. Afraid of the mic. God knows how this event was special for me. It was an honor to be apart, it felt like more than a performance, it was ministry.

It reminded me that God has purpose for us all under the sun, and if I can speak to His people with the linguistic skills that He gave me, why run? There is no need when God has called you on the platform and in the spaces, to stand in front of many faces for His glory. I always ask “Why me?!” But my language needs to change, why not me? I am child of God called for His plan and His will to be done.

You may not feel qualified but just know that you are, know that you are called. Don’t let the voices in your head shut you purpose down!

1. We scheduled a couples interview where they told me their story and I had asked them any questions that would help me create the picture that they imagined for that day. ✍🏾
2. We went check out the wedding venue to collaborate with the media team at the ceremony to make sure the day went smoothly. ✅
3. My attire was chosen strategically to compliment the bridal party. 👗

Nahomie has been a spoken word artist for over 13 years, she has been writing and creating productions for 10 years. Salem State University is where she discovered her lyrical gift of poetry, ever since, she has curated many productions, events, and facilitated and taught workshops around the spoken word artistry.

Nahomie began her Spoken Word Ministry at weddings in the year of 2015, and has been a part of numerous ceremonies ever since, what started as a hobby for friends and family, turned out to be a ministry that God has gifted her with.
