Chiang Mai, Thailand 🇹🇭
We just love this city!
When we did a Thailand trip back in 2022, this city has already become our favorite place in Thailand.
Although it is the burning season right now and the pollution is pretty bad, we still have decided to come for a week of work and leisure to Chiang Mai.
For us, this city has everything to offer for us as Digital Nomads. From affordable and nice apartments, to comfortable cafes, to lots of culture to explore and of course - great restaurants.
This is definitely not the last time for us here.

Kyushu Japan 🇯🇵
In Kyushu, we have rented a camper to explore more of the Southern Island of Japan. The island does not have a huge population like the main Island of Japan, therefore it is perfect to drive around, visit cute towns and enjoy nature. In these photos you can see the geothermal activity that is all over Japan. There were many small villages that were covered in steam, it was just incredible. And the Japanese really take advantage of it. They use this steam for lots of Hot springs 😍, but also for cooking and other things.

What an incredible way to co-exist with nature. 💛

Hiroshima and Miyajima 🇯🇵🏯
These two places are so close to each other but give you such different feelings and emotions. In Hiroshima, you will learn about the past, about the destruction and suffering of the people, about why war is definitely not the answer.
Then you take the ferry and you come to this magical island with the Torii waiting for you as you come closer. You can see deer everywhere and just a few people that actually live on the island. During the day it is a famous touristic destination, but at night it becomes quiet and peaceful. 😊

Castles in Japan 🇯🇵
Japan is full of beautiful buildings such as temples or castles. In the first two photos, you can see the castle of Hiroshima and in the third and fourth photo, the castle of Himeji. The castle of Himeji is the largest and most visited castle of Japan and counts nowadays at UNESCO Worldheritage. It is only about 1,5h by train from Osaka.

If you get the chance, it was a great daytrip to see the castle 😊🏯

Kyoto, Japan 🇯🇵
Unfortunately, we only had one day for Kyoto but it was beautiful. We walked through the Gion Neighbourhood, went to some unknown temples, bought some tasty Mochis and just had a good time there. Although it was freezing cold at night, we went out again at 10pm to see the Fushimi Inari Shrine. There are thousands of Torii Gates leading up the hill and you can go for a small hike through these gates. At this time of the day, you can have it to yourself and don't have to walk with the crowds. However, if you climb up the hill during the day, there might also be fewer people. But it was a very magical experience at night. 😊

BELGRADE, SERBIA 🇷🇸

After Nis, Belgrade was the second Serbian city that we visited. We really liked the city although on this day we had like 35 degrees 🙈
The parking situation was a bit more difficult than in Sofia but we could still do everything by foot. And the food here was amazing. I think we had the best Cevapi ever 🤤

NIS, SERBIA 🇷🇸
On our way back from Bulgaria to Germany, we needed to cross through Serbia. And to be honest, I had no clue what to expect. I was never really confronted with their culture or history and I basically entered the country without prejudices nor expectations.
And I got (again) positively surprised. We stayed in Nis for two nights and the people were so friendly. We had so many situations where they just tried to help us even if we were not able to communicate in English. 💛
We really enjoyed our stay there and I would definitely recommend to visit this country.
It will surprise you 😊

SOFIA, Bulgaria 🇧🇬
On Sunday, we went to explore the beautiful capital of Bulgaria and it's food 😂🍲
I am not the biggest fan of capital cities, because they are usually very stressful, the prices are high, there is lots of traffic etc.
But Sofia really surprised me!!
The city has lots of beautiful architecture, open spaces and parks. In general, it is a very green city. Besides this, it has only 1.19 Mio inhabitants which makes it a rather small capital.
Oh and of course, the food is really good 😁
So, I can safely say that Sofia has made it to the top 5 of my favorite capital cities 😍
I recommend you all to visit it!

PIRIN NATIONALPARK, Bulgarien 🇧🇬

Today we went for a hike in the Pirin Nationalpark which is only a 30 Minutes drive from Bansko.
It is one of the most famous parks in the region, although the Rila Nationalpark is more commonly known amongst the hikers and tourists.
The hike was very beautiful and not too hard. You can arrive the first of four lakes after only 30 minutes.
However, we recommend to go early because it got really full in the afternoon. Definitely worth going 😍😊

Besides this the Nationalpark is home to the oldest Pine Tree of Bulgaria (last photo) which counts around 1300 years. This makes it to one of the oldest in the world 🌍

BANSKO, BULGARIA 🇧🇬

It is a small town in the mountains of Bulgaria, around 2-3 hours from Sofia. The town has several ski resorts, lots of hotels and some restaurants and bars. The interesting thing is that the Ski lift starts right from the town and you can basically walk there. In winter time it gets super busy here, but in summer time, lots of things are closed and the town is very calm and relaxed.

More and more Digital Nomads come here for a longer stay and the town has around 4 Co-working spaces.
Definitely worth a visit and one of our highlights in Bulgaria ❤️

IOANNINA GREECE 🇬🇷
The city is not very famous outside of Greece, but it is definitely worth visiting. It is a student city with lots of history, bars, restaurants and a huge lake. Ali Pascha (ottomanian Pascha with Albanian routes) spent most of his life here and was killed on the island of the lake. Nowadays, you can still see the castle, old town and lots of museums in the city. 🏰☺️ Besides this, the food is amazing. 😍

METSOVO (GREECE) 🇬🇷
What a beautiful small village in the mountains of Greece. It is everything you don't expect when you think about Greece😅.
The surroundings are lush green, the houses made out of stone, hiking trails around the corner and they apparently even have bears here 😳 we really liked the short visit and had AMAZING food to a very affordable price.
Definitely worth visiting when you are in the region of the Meteora Monasteries. ☺️

GREECE - MOUNTAINS.🇬🇷
In the mountains of Greece, you can find small villages that seem like they are stuck in the past. The roads are very adventurous and not the easiest to drive. But it is worth to go there and explore the beautiful nature that these places have to offer 😍

TZOUMERKA NATIONALPARK, GREECE 🇬🇷🌄

Greece is so much more than white beaches and beautiful islands. It also has stunning mountains, like this National Park. It is such a diverse country and you can explore every day something else. 😍

You know what is the best thing about work and travel? You still have to do the day-to-day things, but just in nicer places. But this also means that you don't get bored or tired by too many impressions in a short time while you are traveling. I feel like I am enjoying work so much more since I am able to work from anywhere. It feels like fitting into my life and not the way around. I am so grateful for this possibility.

We LOVE spending time in our mini-camper and in the nature. Although one day we might get a bigger van, for the moment we are taking advantage of our Focanetta whenever we can ☺️😍

ROADTRIP DAY 2: AUSTRIA - SLOVENIA - CROATIA

we slept in a small town at the border to Slovenia. When we woke up we had the most incredible view over the Wörthersee, then we took the mountain pass to cross into Slovenia.

Most famous hike of Madeira - but we did it in the opposite direction - Pico Ruivo to Pico Areeiro ⛰️

It was a fantastic hike with breathtaking views. The path itself was very well maintained, but at some points very steep. The only downside of this trek is that it gets sooo crowded. Therefore, we recommend going very early.

Malta🇲🇨 was definitely a cool place to stay for a few weeks. It's such a tiny country yet an amazing melting pot of cultures.
We really enjoyed the nature (endless cliffs), the friendliness of the Maltese people, the good Italian coffee and the variety of international cuisine.
(🍹 the daily aperol spritz wasn't bad neither)
We didn't enjoy that much the chaotic traffic though. 😅
