The circle of control has come up a few times as we’ve been discussing boundaries.

A common misuse of the term “boundary” is if there is anything outside of your circle of control. Meaning, if you are expecting anybody to change their behavior, you aren’t actually setting a boundary.

The good news? Your circle of control is actually probably a lot bigger than you think it is. And we’ll get into that more this season!

During afternoon nap walks with my new baby, I listened to Atomic Habits by . It was a great read at this stage of my life. A lot of things are changing and it’s time to set new routines and, surprise, build new habits.

I found this book incredibly refreshing and surprisingly values-centered. You can read more about my thoughts on it at the link in our stories. 😊

It’s been a year?! How is that possible?

It’s been a crazy year for us at Waffles Friends Work. Jensie and I both got new jobs, which took more of our energy than we expected. And then to add to the crazy, Jensie rescued a crazy dog (Ham) and my husband and I had a baby(!!).

Welcome to the family, Ham and Graham! (And no, we didn’t plan to have such well coordinated names 😜.)

We have exciting things coming this year: more episodes, new topics, more Parks and Rec swag, and (my personal favorite), a values-setting workbook. Stay tuned for the fun.
