My name is Nikki. I am mom to three small humans (Lilly, Logan, Landen), wife to one taller human (Ben), and we all love on our adorable, anxious, under-bite ridden rescue dog (Penny).
I am also a clinical psychologist and behavior analyst who specializes in intellectual and developmental disabilities, specifically improving the quality of life for those who demonstrate severe disruptive behavior and their families.
You may or may not be surprised to know, my profession is NOT the source of the chaos.
A little about me.
I don’t like breakfast foods. I would eat Cincinnati-style chili for breakfast if they were open (and lunch, and dinner, likely 7 days a week). I LOVE memes. They speak to my soul and do a fantastic job of augmenting my snark. Oh yeah, I am super snarky.
I believe that laughter is always the best medicine and I find a great deal hysterical. Commercials, my kids, memes, random people walking down the street, my cooking, memes…hysterical.
I refuse to read things that will make me cry, though illogically I love listening to songs that move me to tears. I adore singing. And I am pretty wretched at it. See you at karaoke later?
I am adamant that humor cannot be at the expense of kindness. Understanding that we have a tendency to compare our real-lives with someone else’s highlight-reel inspires a lot of what I try to put out into the world.
Hysterical Chaos is an attempt to bring some extra laughter to the world and share some of the real-life ridiculousness that comes out of our crazy little family.
